Grouped with my brother's 67 mage. His pet max hit was 104 without spirit of might 108 with spirit of might.

My dog max hit was 68 without spirit of might 70 with spirit of might.

I am asumming that all of his hits are a bit higher with this buff than they would have been other wise.


Does this sound correct to you?

Way I understand it Might is meant to increase damage output without adding to yer Strength Stat. But yeah might does help out a bit with the max damage. at least thats what I've seen so far

well, with might, the numbers look about right for SOE math.

what might does is "increase all skills damage modifier by 5%", meaning all melee skills should hit 5% harder every hit. lol but there are no real changes in any stats, and it doesn't affect spells/procs.

might increases the max dmg the target can do, so yes your pet goes from 68 to 70...add champ and he goes to 73. I know lucy shows them at 5 and 10%, but in practice its usually skewed a little. might is straight up dmg mod, no str to it. I usually cast diaku on my pet, dunno if it helps really, but im 100% sure it doesnt hurt

I saw the part about it increasing damage modifier by 5%. I don't think increasing the damage modifier 5% necessarily translates to increasing damage by 5%. Overall I am happy with the buff (and all the 66 - 70 buffs).

I read somewhere that Fortitude does nothing for pets. Anyone know for sure?

I know these are newb questions but I just got back to EQ lately.

They don't actually increase your max damage directly, they add to your weapons SKILLS by 5% and 10% for might and champion, which in turns adds to an increase in your weapon damage (for you or your pet.) That is why it comes to less than 5/10% in practice when you cast on your pet.

As for stamina, it has no effect on pet HPS. Notice when you cast Stamina on someone who doesn't yet have it, there HP "drops" 1%, because they max amount has increased without the actual going up. This doesn't happen on pets. If you get a low HP pet and have him get beat on and then cast stamina and check the damage dealt you will get the same numbers as well.

EDIT: Also, the mages at 69 get a spell that adds the same effect as Might to their pet, they won't get the damage increase from casting Might on them at that point, because they won't stack, but Champion will increase it.
