Idracab "I get a disgustingly geeky pleasure out of not missing a single tick of damage, usually re casting a dot, seeing the 'your spell has worn off' message, and 1 second later have it land."
This is hardly geeky. I think it starts getting geeky when you have a spreadsheet set up that models DPS for different casting order, which I've seen a lot of shaman do on these boards. But doing this can be quite an exercise in optimisation when you consider how many soloing scenarios there are (mobs, gear, DoTs in your book, to name the major ones). I enjoyed doing it for my shaman for the two places I loved soloing at 75, and the odd raid mob that allowed me the time to do DPS.
I must admit I don't have the concentration stamina to land 100% of my DoTs a second after the 'your spell has worn off' message, for more than Lesson's duration. To make it easier I have 3 solo spell sets that I use as timers via the scribing duration. I guess if I didn't chat to friends or eat and drink it may happen more often but who wants to be a robot
all the time eh
Commenting on the multiple mob style (jekrnu); this becomes much more realistic once your mana pool is big enough so that you can keep it up. Personally I only started doing this when my mana pool was around 11-12k with raid focii, and it got even easier when I got my root ring. Before that it just wasn't as efficient as doing the mobs one at a time and concentrating on killing a mob every 2 mins like Retron.
Happy hunting!
