New to paladins spell line

On the new to us spell of Mark of the Saint – my understanding from the spell description is that this is a nifty thing to cast on mobs. Any suggestions on when, where, and what mobs it should be used on? Anytime or place we shouldn’t use it? Would this be better in the group, raid, or solo spell set?

Best use really is on mobs that take a while to kill. If you're killing exp trash that dies quick, it's usually not worth casting since you aren't going to get much out of it, but if it's a longer fight it'll pull a lot of damage, assuming a cleric isn't able to slip theirs on anyways. It's probably useful for soloing also. I haven't used it myself yet hehe

Used it whilst Soloing, pull with it and let mob do the work killing itself on you, if your slowing the mob not a great deal of use but unslowed in SoF it goes help noticeably.

I agree on raids it is pointless on 10 second trash and named fights anytime I have cast mine its either bounced as cleric got in their first or lasts a couple of seconds before a clerics lands.

If they had wanted to give us another niche market then it should have been bigger and also stopped giving clerics it.

Also use it on mobs that have a DS (for instance, Vish or the skeletons in Demiplane). It will overwrite the DS and prevent duel wielders from getting chewed up. It's pretty much exactly the same as when clerics use their marks on mobs.
