FAIL! - READ ME

ATTENTION EVERYONE (even YOU):

You need to enter a magelo url to REGISTER YOUR ACCOUNT and to UPDATE YOUR PROFILE.

If not, you will get a pesky FAIL! message.

Now, this can be the url to a magelo profile, or just http://magelo.com , but that's worked wonders on stopping the spam registrations.

Trust me, this is stated repeatedly in the registration process - you just overlooked it.

The agreement page, http://crucible.samanna.net/profile.php?mode=register , includes the text:

Please note that your profile MUST contain a magelo link (this is to filter out non-human registrants); if you have no magelo profile, just enter the main magelo page URL. Thanks for your cooperation.

Then, on the filly-outy page, http://crucible.samanna.net/profile.php ... greed=true , the magelo field info includes the text:

Magelo Link - can just be magelo main page, but must be filled in to register.:

Hi.

Due to spam registrations, I changed the forums a while ago to require admin activation of new users.

Microsuck Outlook decided the email from samanna.net was spam, so I haven't been seeing them lately.

I have to head out, but will set up some instructions this week for new users to let me know that they are not spambots, so that I can manually activate their accounts.

Well, my buddy, Tony the SA (yay T!) fixed it so that most spam registrations should just fail now, so I've turned it back to admin activation NOT required; we'll see how it goes.
