There's an easy fix to this for future expansions. I wouldn't want all XP/Trash mobs to be this way but if you put in very social communal mobs (can't solo pull them at all) and made their damage per hit not so high, but made them unslowable, you'd have no choice but to mez them or root/park them.

You can't load them up with hit pts where it takes a DP-geared group 2 minutes just to kill one. Keep the hit pts low so if you do get 3 or 4 and your mezzer dies you have a chance to burn through them before they wipe you if you have strong healing and burned mana. But if you removed the slow ability on some mobs, that limits your options on controlling them.

The reason mobs hit so hard now is because of the player's ability to slow. The reason most players are working so hard to single pull mobs these days is because each mob hits so hard and if you get 2 or 3 you are probably going to wipe. Just change the damage dynamics...less per mob but more mobs = same DPS output. Same DPS overall as a hard hitting giant in Frostcrypt but spread that damage out over 3 mobs that you can't split and can't slow. You either root park them or mez them. Or don't go to the zone at all...which will be part of the equation. They would have to make it worthwhile RvR to go there. You don't get as much XP per mob but you kill so many that the XP is outstanding.

Point being, it's a fixable problem. The trend to harder and harder and harder hitting mobs doesn't have to continue where single pulls are the only real solution.

And while the gimpness of enchanters expecially in FC may not be relevant to the original topic of VP, it was an interesting discussion (and perhaps the only time Unmei agreed with one of my posts).

Hope you are able to convince the Devs to give you a questable giant mez and/or questable giant charm which does not require RAID drops. A solid group in FC for drops sure, but requiring stuff from Frostcrypt or Ashengate Raid instances would be silly adn a slap in the face to non-raiders.

Especially since the giants even in Valdholm instance (like Urdengar the traitor) were mainly if not completely red.

Thinking back to last night when we won for the first time WooHoo!!! it seemed that enchanters were perhaps the least useful class there and defintely need some help. If all the trash in later raids is red, they will not be able to provide any form of CC. It is bad when you look back at a mission and realize that on a 54 person raid there was absolutley no reason for class x.
