Shield Choices

With Etheral Guard I would gain 1% shielding, 5 AC, 35 HP, Benificial range of 35% to lvl 72, but lose 20 avoidance and Furious Bash VII from Lightning Lord. Take into account I am under cap for avoidance and shielding. I am unsure if FB works on our casted spells or not. If it does, it changes a 2000 hate stun (Sacred Force Rk II) into 3400 hate which will make a huge difference when tanking hard hitters and people are in full burn mode. Especially those aggro happy wizzies

To give an idea of where my guild is, we farm CoA through AMV, Vish, we have successfully killed Doash twice in the last 3 attempts, Farming Zi in DP, just added Sisters to the list, and are starting to work on Hatchet. Is there a better shield I should hold out for, or are these the two highs for where we are at?

I will post Magelo when I get home, but to give a general Idea I buff to 17.5k and 3300 AC using shield and BoFF.

Said he didn't have avoidance maxed, and the avoidance on litening > 1% shielding diff in mho. the 5 ac more is nice but in the grand scheme of things probably won't parse out as much of a diff as 20 avoidance jump will (remember just because it has 5 more ac doesn't mean it will end up this way equipped since avoidance affects displayed ac). I went from midnight to litening lord mostly cause it was almost on rot status. Even without the enforcer aug (when I first equipped it prior to reaugging) my overall ac from midnight + enforcer aug to litening lord was like a 10-15 ac diff below midnight + aug, after I augged lord my ac went quite a bit up over old ac lvl. I would say if you're nowhere near cap on avoidance lord would be a better choice.

I forgot to link my magelo last night

But I looked at my armor, and calculated roughly 65 avoidance. I still need the avoidance aug from CoA. I will be replacing Ring of the Beast with Ring of Deterrance eventually, so will gain 10 avoidance there. That will put me around 90 avoidance, again with or without shield. I am fairly new to higher end raiding (only been around 7 months) and still wear several Tacvi / MPG Trial / Qvic pieces which I need to still replace. I will be placing a few more last bloods, which will also add 9 avoidance on 2 - 3 of them, so I will be maxed, I have just been saving my DKP to be able to buy the more desireable items that go for high amounts.
