The feedback we've received so far leads me to believe this decision will be well received, but undoubtedly there will be some questions and some issues during the transition. Thanks in advance for your patience during this time. A few things that have already come up...
Custom titles
Right now, the custom titles that are in use are in some cases shaman-specific (such as 'Shaman' heh). Unfortunately, the software underlying the boards doesn't allow us to have alternate custom titles for paladins and shaman, particularly given that we can't tell from a registration whether you registered as a paladin or shaman heh... if you end up with a custom title that is shaman-specific, and you want it fixed, send a PM to Samanna or myself, and we'll try to get it addressed.
What about the old content?
We'd love to pull the old content over. However, for the time being, that has proven difficult, as the myfreebb boards have continued to be down. It is also the case that myfreebb provides no help or useful facilities for migrating content off their boards, so in any case this is gonna take some work on our part. UPDATE!!! We are backing up content from the myfreebb board today, September 24, and have transferred some here already.
Paladin graphics
Samanna already pointed out that the graphics on this site are shaman-centric, and has offered to add paladin-specific graphics in the appropriate places. However, that would require paladin-specific graphics

Board structure
The existing structure of the paladin boards here is largely based on the previous boards, with a few conscious changes. We removed several forums because they either had extremely few posts, or because they duplicated forums already in existence at The Spirit Realm. Our hope is that we won't have the paladin community curl up into a ball hidden among the shaman boards, but will instead pool our resources to end up with a community that is better for both classes. If you are posting about strategy for Ayonae Ro, figure it out for yourself. It will be more fun that way. I kid! I kid! But if you are posting about strategy for Ayonae Ro, you could post it in the Lord Protector's Citadel, as typically only high end paladins would be doing this encounter. However, you could instead post it in the Raiding forum, where the responses would benefit both shaman and paladins, and your question would gain greater visibility. On the other hand, if you are posting about what a paladin's role is for that fight, or what spell lineup you use, you might instead choose to put it in Lord Protector's Citadel. Just think about whether your posts really are paladin specific; if we all do this well, I think these boards will end up being that much better a resource.
I'm sure there is more, but I actually have work to do. I'll be posting similar announcements to the Sony boards and a few other prominent EQ discussion boards, but feel free to tell your friends, post it on guild/server boards, etc. etc.
Thanks for your support, and looking forward to a long, successful merger of these two discussion communities. Oh - and Focus, Fort, Sense please....
