I don't think shaman should pay more. At this point I think either we should pay less, and those who have already paid in overage have AA refunded, or some other as of yet undetermined course of action.

Druids are currently paying 40% more in AA costs for an ability in all fairness, was given to Shaman after the Druid class had it for an expansion or more. Practically, this makes no sense at all. If anything, your skills should have cost equal or more then ours, not 40% less.

Heal over Time is a shaman "thing" it's not a Druid thing. So it is reasonable we have it at a significantly lesser cost.

It is ENTIRELY UNREASONABLE to conside this in a stand alone manner. Unless you also balance out other AA with respect to the classes abilities

I would like to point out that the healing AA's that druids spend exactly the same AA on as shaman do are MORE effective for a druid than a shamana, because your base equivalent heal is larger than the shaman one.

Considering the lvl 70 Ancient heals (as they are the same level for druids and shaman - this produces a fair comparison, the TSS ones are 73/75 and that is an imbalanced situation)
The Druid Heal is 3094 for 723 mana
The Shaman Heal is 2716 for 723 mana
The druids heal for 378 hp more on the equivalent spells for exactly the same mana and time costs.

Wtth full healing AA's (28% flat, +25% critical) druids will get an extra 200hp healed for exactly the same mana and AA cost as a shaman on the equivalent spells.

The exact same comparison is tru with respect to clerics (for both druids and shaman)

A: I believe spell is balanced to spell, not spell to AA. It makes no sense to balance spell to AA where AA is at the choice of the player and Spell is handled by class, esp in TSS where the spells are freaking merchant sold.
B: Dispite Shaman having HoTs longer then Druids, the AA line, and its diverison to the Convergance line was allocated to Druids 1-2 years ahead of shaman in both cases. There is no reason you should be paying 60% of the cost. If the lines where introduced to even us out (as it seems to be the case) then the costs should have been fairly close. This is shown in both the Healing AAs we both get, as well as in our Healing Wards.
C: Your UoS and AA/F AAs are not linked, you can use both within the same 15 minute timer, we can't. Its Covergance or Grove, we're forced to choose between the two.
D: You can claim this isn't a fair comparison, but I disagree. Both are instant cast for both classes, and both use exactly zero mana cost. You Get UoS for the pre-req of one AA line, we get GoS at the cost of the pre-reqed 3 AA lines needed to unlock it.

Convergance of Spirits - Required Level 70 Prereqs of Spirit of the Grove Maxed, Which has Pre Reqs of Spirit of the Wood Maxed.

Gathering of Spirits - Required Level 71, Prereqs of Convergance of Spirits maxed which requires Spirit of the Grove Maxed which requires Spirit of the Wood Maxed.

Union of Spirits - Required level 71 - Prereqs of An Aid Maxed.

The issue isn't with the group heal, its with the cost of Gathering of Spirits in relation to Union of Spirits. The addition of the Convergance Pre-Req adds 27 AA to the cost of Gathering over what your paying, which is already 1 AA more per rank then your skill.

This doesn't even factor in yours are on seperate timers, and ours are not.

Ours aren't supposed to be on separate times, as far as I know. That's likely a bug that will get fixed next patch. I seem to remember a developer stating that it was intended that you would have to pick and choose.
