then do it. start making contacts with folks that would pledge membership and apply for a guild name. if it works it works, if not...wouldnt be the first.

CTV isnt as restrictive as it once was, back on TT you applied......and waited 6months+ for them to open apps, then they fished thru all their applications, and chose a few to actually app. if you have any skill at all, big guilds want you..and by the sounds of it, you arent an idiot. a ctv member probably grouped with you (or an alt) and you impressed them, thats all it takes now. Impress a unity member, and your going to be activly recruited...large guilds can no longer afford to wait and pick thru players, they are actively searching for players atm...btw unity requires a 30% raid attendance for your vote to come up, check us out. our app ranks are kinda fat atm, due to IW splitup, but theres always room, and your family is welcome to check us out also, PST me in game some time (5pm PST, 8pm eastern) and ill see about have you guest along. we raid upper end content, raid 6 days a week (30% of 6 days is..2 days a week??...right)
