Mind you, I only read to the sixth book in his series, I just could not bring myself to continue on with the painful expressions I made and my wife laughing at me everytime I said, BREAK TIME throughout the sixth book itself. As for the other authors, I definitely recommend Dennis L. McKiernan. His books were very organized, out of sequence when published but you can read them by how they go by through the years in his books which made me think of Tolkien everytime I open one of his books. Raymond Feist is coming out with a new saga at the beginning of next month called The Darkwars Saga w/ the first book titled Flight of the Nighthawks. I have that on Pre-Order on Amazon.Com and sent out to me. Been reading a lot of E.E. Knight and Stephen Kensen lately though because he has started a whole new ShadowRun trilogy. Just finished it with Fallen Angels two days ago. I read up to Book Four of E.E. Knights - The Vampire Earth Series.
Great books if you are as much an avid reader just like myself.

One of my absolute favorites and yet to be mentioned: a trilogy by Elizabeth Moon. She's done some pretty fantasic Sci Fi also. If you enjoy Anne McCaffrey you'll enjoy this too. They have even co-authored a few novels.

I mostly agree, except I think there's an important distinction between saying, "I really respect that fellow for trying to put his feelings into song." and "I like that guy's music."; One should, in fact, be able to express your feelings on the music, whether it sucks or not, entirely independantly of whether you respect the guy/gal/small furry creature from alpha centauri for producing it.
In fact, I would go so far to say that you have every right to express negative feelings with regard to someone's product as long as you don't disparage the fact that it took effort to create it. (Unless, of course, it didn't. Sometimes, you can just spot a slack-ass job.)
