There is TONS of content for new players. The problem is, no one is using it. There are many factors that play into it not being used, but there is no denying the vastness of Norrath.
That said, I use MMs to get AAs faster than I would normally. They are great for when I can't dedicate a bunch of time at the keyboard, but can spare 20-30 minutes. I'll do an MM, then go afk or camp for a half hour and do something productive in RL, then do another MM.
Without MMs, I might not even bother logging on when I know I can only play a half hour or so. I wouldn't want to inconvenience a real group by leaving as soon as things got going, and I don't always want to 2-box exp zones for AA all the time (although I still do a fair amount). Being able to grab an AA on both accounts (I two-box the MMs too) in that 30 minutes is very beneficial to me.
