Being a shaman of 6 years.. thought I chime in... Dungeon crawls define a smart, attentive person from a stupid one... Number one thing was Respect... You respected zones, no not for the common occurances, but for what could happen (and did often)...
You respected:
Blackburrow, Runnyeye, and Befallen.. Where you quickly learned running mobs were a bad omen..
Sol Eyes.. Getting lost was indeed something you learned meant hours of pain..
Lower Guk and later on Seb... Froggy had friends if he got away
Hate.. Walls were bad
Fear.. Imps and adds..
Sky.. Isles of pain ><.. Please do hail the lunatic
Estates.. NO they didnt run, but damn if they didnt give you hell to the last %
Chardok.. Relearning what pain it was to let a mob run.. King trap ><
VP.. 2+ days of Dragons.. nuff said
Sirens.. Pick your poison... Sirens or that deathtrap of a tunnel Walruses
WToV.. Don't let it ruuuun... Oh man...
.. and many more memories....
which when by time PoP was released.. I don't know if it was because I was a seasoned Vet or the introduction of pain-nerfing ideas... the game lost alot of risk.. and made it easier for the casuals to level without henderance...
I'll be honest... at this point.. fuk it... put city stones in my Guild Hall... I'm not losing anything other than avoiding the laggy PoK of Buff Tell Hell....
Was there a point? Not much of one... but I do miss the respect of a zone...
Sadly, with all the things put into place, the game lost it's respect.. Easy to get places.. Easy to CR... People dont have CR gear in the limited bank spots anymore...
What my can do for you!
