SOE is launching EQ Players, a website designed to extend the player interaction with the game outside of the game world. This new service gives players more ways to access, track and expand their in-game characters by obtaining character statistics, profiles, item information, in-game activities and more all in one place. The website http://www.eqplayers.com will launch on December 15, 2005, and will have profiles for more than 4.9 million characters and more than 335 million total inventory items. EQ Players will be available for EverQuest players to try, at no additional cost, until December 29, 2005, after which time some EQ Players features will carry a monthly fee.

In addition, as a special offer, SOE will reactivate previously closed EverQuest accounts for 21 days of free gameplay but the former EverQuest players must take advantage of this offer before January 13, 2006

Also - Everquest Titanium - about time!

EverQuest Titanium, an all-inclusive collection consisting of EverQuest Classic and the first ten expansions. EverQuest Titanium carries a suggested retail price of $19.99 and will be available at retail beginning January 11, 2006.

the new $20 bundle is a great idea. The need to buy 4+ expansions at $20-50 each has been quite a barrier for some people who might be interested in picking up EQ again.

Off and on have been trying the site. All I am getting is the splash page saying basically coming soon. EQ2 page seems to be active though, but not sure, since I don't have a subscription to that.

well at first i thought this was a good idea. but now, not counting the horrid attention to gear im actually wearing (i am duel weilding 2.0 and a veluim rapier, with a shield i banked months ago hanging below the rapier not even in a slot????yeah beats me), i am nearly mortified at the amount of info you can see on anyone in the game you choose, whether or not the "opt out" or want their info displayed at all. want to know why "joe necro" has silkworms in his shared bank slot, or when he created his ton...how much time played? well its now information open to everyone. forget any feelings of privacy you once had, everything's out in the open now. wether you want it seen or not.

remember when inspecting someone was considered rude? well soe just O'd it for everyone and now they can rummage thru your bank space too.

hackers, you no longer have to waste time on crappy account, now you can find targets who have the items you want in their banks and inventories and concentrate on them, after all SOE's own player database has it sorted and ready to pillage.

PoK bums (the guys beggin for plat and gear and make tons of plat doing it), well no more random rell messages for you...nope, just a quick search and you can find the plat gazillionares on your server, and bug tehm for handouts...no more broke sains giving you fine steal swords and 20plat

I like EQplayers alot. It has a couple minor inaccuracies, but I am sure they will fix it. I just want them to fix my creation date, actually(and AA count, but that's only 120 off anyway).

Of course, now you see another reason why they announced the termination of the legends service. We've been promised the features of eqplayers.com for 4 years now and have been paying for those features, but have never recieved them. Yet another blow to the people who stuck with Stormhammer from the beginning, having this announced just days after terminating our service and server.
