Ever do something stupid and wipe the raid?

Great story, wish mine were that funny. With my druid I have experienced premature exodusing because my track button and exodus were too close. In raids when you are in the MT group that tends to upset alot of people.

I did that same thing once, inadvertently. I was halfway through the sequence (#7 or 8 I think) and I went link dead. Well, when I came back I figured I'd just pick it up where I left off, but no luck. Then I thought maybe I'd start at the beginning again, but no luck there either. So I figured I'd give it a half hour or so to reset. No luck there either. I think I wiped our little raid 2 or 3 times before they all decided it was just safer to wait in KT.

Never did get it that day. I finally ended up waiting until patch day so I knew it would be safe.

Anybody know if/what the reset time on the sequence is if it gets screwed up like that?

I haven't yet wiped a raid (that I know of) but I was in a Saryn raid about two weeks ago. We had a "guest" wizard on the raid who was the RL uncle of one of our members. We were on the keeper of sorrows fight and suddenly I get the ZONING PLZ WAIT message. I thought well crap he didn't even hit me, htf did I die? Then popped into zone in full life. OOPS wizard had set their keyboard down and it just happened to hit the hotkey for evac. The raid couldnt come back and get us, we couldnt make it to them, so the raid continued with two groups, got Saryn to 20% or so and wiped. Some people got real ticked, I couldnt help but laugh

Ha! Well, as a raid leader, it's usually extra bad form when I wipe a raid, but I've done it several times! Fortunately, my guild is forgiving, since I'm normally a little better than that.

Let's see . . .

In Tacvi, I repeatedly warned everyone not to use F8 targeting in Tunat's room (fake one) so they wouldn't hit the healing mobs around him. Right as we go in, I had to buff a warrior (ADD little bugger that he was, he didn't bother to check buffs before the fight), and when I used my mouse to click back on Tunat, I didn't notice that my target had switched to one of the healing mobs instead . . . Everyone running up got savaged as heals and bard song had their effects, hehe.

I wiped us on Vish twice, too! I got distracted and missed spotting an egg once, just recently. The other time was a mis-target (mob apparently memblurred, ran partway through me, then ran back when re-agro'd, but it apparently ran through me just as I targeted vish with my mouse and I never noticed.

(Good rule of thumb to practice there--always doublecheck your target window before nuking if you are in a situation with multiple mobs.)

Then there was the time I trained our newbie warrior trial with see invis mobs while he was afk at a zoneline. He was on the can, and tried to get back when he heard things beating on him and zone . . . just missed making it, too! Got there just in time to turn around, and . . . Loading, please wait! (I am an evil leezard.)

Everyone messes up some time. If it's a valid mistake and not someone just not paying attention, I generally don't read people the riot act on our raids. If they screw up from not listening though . . . I get testy! Most people don't do it twice! We only raid 3x a week, so we have to stay top form to remain in current content with all the flagging stuff to do.

You should have people in your guild get the clicky cure disease shield from plane of hate. My brother has that and it's much easier than carrying potions around. Clickable from inventory by any class.

When I Was with my old guild [eotd from vazaelle] our raid leader was a real ass helmet (name is Strikeing/ktie/kkit). So after he gave me guff for something I decided to blind an inc named mob which ended up wiping the entire raid. There are other stories but some of them are better left unsaid.

On an off night, my old guild killed Shei for shits and giggles. We had some obscene number of people there, like 30 level 65s, only because people hadn't done it and wanted to. So I'm running around invis and find some mob named Shar Vinitras I'd never seen before. It aggros me and hits me for like 300 so I figure, what the hell, I'll pull it.

Turns out it quadded for 1k, ramapaged, and had a couple retarded DoT AEs we weren't ready for, and so I wiped my (time geared) guild in Akheva ruins. One of the greatest accomplishments of my EQ career.

Also, the shamans and warriors of my old guild used to have a pact together. During fights like Aten, AoW, Mith Marr, Bertoxx, (and later Sol Ro, Time TZ, Time RZ) A certain warrior would blow AE taunt during enrage and see how many people he could get to kill themselves, and we shamans would switch to spam healing that tank to try to keep them alive. This evolved into the tank trying to area taunt Time TZ and pull him all the way to the clerics that were outside around the corner.

Ahh, good times.
