i agree, voting on going to war kinda adds, 4 milllion layers of bearuocracy, and 6 months to getting troops moving.
as a 13 year veteran, most of the "support our troops" signs can be taken down...everyone flys them, but most the time there is no feeling behind it. Example, i was going to get vet plates for my car when i got back from overseas (im out of the service now) but it turns out they cost 3 times as much as regular plates...but of course the door had a support our troops sticker on it.
when folks join the military, they know what can happen, and its told to them clearly. 95% of the people i met were proud of the job they were doing. the only thing they really wanted was for there family to be better taken care of while they were gone ( and after they got back). Track houseng/trailer parks, income within most states foodstamps qualifications, and lack of ability to get higher education is on the top of alot of peoples lists. (eduaction benifits are super plentiful, but when you spend 1 year in iraq and deploy often or work 12+ hour shifts every day, there is no TIME to take advantage of it)
