Thyr and I disagree on everything. He believes that anything even slightly beneficial to tank classes should be given to tank classes. When anyone who is not a tank rolls on Avoidance gear, for example, the vein in his forehead throbs and he is compelled to begin a thirty-page thesis on the virtues of Warriors, Avoidance, Shielding and so forth. We have never agreed on this (avoidance, anyway, I agree about shielding), and it usually detoriorates into petty bantering back and forth before the threads are locked and deleted. Thus, when I saw the potential of this spell I just had to act. I knew Lingering Sloth was going to get fixed soon, so I *had* to have my fun with it. I discussed this with an officer before doing it, and we agreed that I could cast Lingering Sloth on someone for trash MoBs but not nameds. Well, you can guess who my 'someone' was!
I present to you ... the Thyrstory!
((This is very image intensive, so I've attached them all as links.))
I was asked to stop towards the end because the poor guy was freaking out. He never would have caught on either, if it wasn't for that damned Ogre Warrior (/rude, Razzo!) who told him what I was doing. He really was a good sport about it, but I doubt he'll ever ask me for buffs again . . .
I had my fun and in the end I feel this spell was well worth the time invested, just for all the fun it brought to me and my guild for this one night. (If only I could have recorded my phone call, Elad and Immy were crying, Naiya couldn't breathe, and I was gasping for air.) Once it's fixed it'll be yet another useless spell in the back of the book, but for now it brought me immense happiness.

EDIT: My numbering is off in the screenshots. I made these post-raid (~ 2-3 A.M. Eastern) and wasn't paying attention. I never got a screenshot of his first death, sadly.
EDIT #2: I've been asked to remove some people's names. I'll be reposting it sans-tells shortly.
EDIT #3: Re-added them, with most tells removed
