Huh, I'd have to say it transforms bodytype to animal...instead of only usable on animals. This is what the spdat says, and my necro absolutely gets plant/animal bane dmg bonus when this spell is applied. I know for a fact it works on non-animals i.e. humanoids, monsters, undead, etc.
I guess my personal box group of nec/war/shm makes this a decent spell for me. My shaman INC macros run aa malo > counterbias > HoT > Lion > spell malo for magic bonus > feralisa. I don't DoT or nuke at all with the shaman; my necro does the killing. I have noticed a lot of named are flagged as immune to this spell for whatever, guessing the change bodytype portion. But, it increases my war & pets dps, decreases mob dmg some & boosts necro dps a little. So I use it, frequently, when i'm alone. Just like using spell malo for the increased magic dmg from necro DoTs - I sorta try to maximize what I got.
When i'm grouped with my regular friends (which includes monk/rogue/shm) I dont play my shaman; we run a secondary group for support (me=enchanter, buddy=wiz). In this case my chanter macro on inc is spell tash > slivered conscious debuff > confusing constriction dot/debuff > big nuke. I know my buddy also uses feralisa, low priority - but it pops in the target window frequently. He does it for the increased melee dmg. I'll have to ask if his wifes' pinpoint discs overwrite it; pretty sure he doesnt use this on named as he's too busy keeping my war alive.
Then again, you guys may be viewing this spell value purely from a raid viewpoint?
