Here some estimates for the changes:
usual sequence on groupmobs: basevalues (RKII)
time / mana / damage / name
3s (1.5) 1161 Counterbias
2.25s Malosinete
7.5s (+1.5) 1767 Lynx
0.5 (+1.5) 1366 4694	Bite (12s recast)
3.0 (+1.5) 984	5x1200	Mojo
3.0 (+1.5) 838	5x960	Pocus
..
0.5 (+1.5) 1366 4694	Bite

startsequence timed with foci (estimate) GR=1.5 seconds global recast between 2 spells included
time / mana / damage / name
2 1161 Counterbias
2 Malosinete
5.25 1767 Lynx almost 10 seconds in fight befor we start dps
2 1366 4694	Bite
3.5 984	2x1200	Mojo
3.5 838	1x960	Pocus another 9 seconds and dots are running (8 seconds with running tribute)
5 .. now we are around 18-20 seconds in the fight (Wait 5 seconds until Bite is possible again /spellcanni)
2 1366 4694	Bite mostly the dots don't run their course but a second bite is possible
total til here 25 seconds 7428 mana 12748 damage (510 dps) (but still about 5 tics per dot "for free" with dot-extension foci which would be around 10k damage)
possible sequence with nukes (swap the 2 dots for spear and ice sheet)
time / mana / damage / name
2 1161 Counterbias
2 Malosinete
5.25 1767 Lynx almost 10 seconds in fight befor we start dps
2 1366 4694	Bite
3.5 694	2585	Ice Sheet
3.5 715	2431 Spear of Venom
3.5 694	2585	Ice Sheet
3.5 715	2431 Spear of Venom
2 1366 4694	Bite
total til here 27 seconds 8478 mana 19420 damage (720 dps)
conclusion:
If you have only 3 spellgems in your setup for dps-spells, bite/ice sheet/spear will be more dps than bite/dot/dot and cost more mana.
I run dry already with bite/dot/dot/bite if I try to apply that combo on each mob, the nuke-setup will run you dry even faster.
My guess: if the mobs last longer than 40 seconds the dot-setup might be the better still, if the mobs live shorter its worth to think about the nuke-setup.
(hightly dependend on your mannapool/gear/puller/averange time between 2 mobs inc).
