Sorry Macnair I don't buy that.
I want single target cougar to do more damage than single target panther, not just to maintain aggro. The amount of aggro generated also depends on the damage being done from the proc. My dot's do more damage and generate more hate - so to counter that the proc should do more hate.
Let me put it another way:
Why don't you use the older dots when fighting Rhag, they take less mana than the newer ones. That means you will be able to keep them up longer....
To me it's simple: An upgraded single target panther would be a useful addition to my spellbook and would be a spell I would cast, not in all circumstances, but in enough that I would appreciate having it.. Classes get the "apropriate" amount of spells, rather than a fixed number, this wouldn't be taking away from other spells.
Furthermore it keeps and reinforces the principal of having both individual and group spells. Which is a good thing for so many obvious reasons that I surely don't have to enumerate them.
