The NDA was lifted, so this seems like a good time to say the following:

One of our new Shaman spells is, at present, evocation based. Unlike previous evocation based spells, you will want (well, NEED, actually) to use this spell. If you're like me, your evocation has been around 250 for a long, long, long time. You can raise it by casting evocation based spells, such as our level 4 cold nuke, Frost Rift, using a 5 line hotkey such as:

/pause 38, /cast 1
/pause 38, /cast 1
/pause 38, /cast 1
/pause 38, /cast 1
/pause 38, /cast 1

Assuming you put Frost Rift in slot 1, this will cast the spell 5 times in a row. Then, its just a matter of finding a quiet spot in a zone where damage spells work (ie: not PoK, and not Guild Lobby, and not Guild Hall) and then pressing that hotkey every 15 seconds or so. Bring a book. Raising from 253 to 340 took me about 3 hours all told. You'll want to do it before the expansion, though, because not being able to cast the new spell will be extremely detrimental to your career as a healer in Underfoot.

You could also use AF, as long as you are sitting at the puter reading or whatever its perfectly ok.

Go get some poisons from a rogue and when you proc them on mobs it has the chance to raise your evocation skill. I believe this works with the poison from Chalandra's Fang item from LON.
