Dampened Resistance

Hey gang, I have a question about Dampened Resistance.

We're currently doing FC as a guild and Bentolf is a real turd to slow. Spamming BoD, TA clickie, and Turgur's Swarm nets me about 1 slow in 30 or 40 casts at L85, even using BP clickies. That's with Malis and Tash on; more powerful debuffs aren't landing.

Would the Dampen Resistance AA help with this namer (I'm sure it will) or would Focus of Arcanum be more beneficial?

The description of Dampen in the AA window is a little vague, on the level puchased/effect...

From Kinadorm's SoD AA post:
Dampen Resistance - Details: Activated ability that decreases spell resist rate by 5% for levels 65, 70, 75, 80, 85 depending on rank for 30 seconds.

Focus of Arcanum - Details: Decrease spell resist rate by 25% for 3 minutes.

On Dampen Resistance, it seems obvious I'd need rk2 for BoD to land (rk1 - L65, rk2 - up to L70), but what about Turgur's Swarm, which is a L83 AA?

Of course, the answer is to hammer out 79 AAs for the full line of Dampened Resistance and the Hastened DR, as well as the Focus of Arcanum. That'd put DR down to 7.5 mins reuse, and alternate that with FoA AA at 10 mins....

Any wisdom on this would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

To the best of my knowledge, none of these effects will work on Turgur's Swarm, since as an AA it's effectively a level 255 spell, and those effects only work on spells up to 85.
As for the AAs, I'd say go with Focus of Arcanum and just completely forget Dampened resistance. 80 AAs to max Dampen Resistance, 9 for Focus of Arcanum, and Focus of Arcanum beats out Dampen Resistance in every way. I even sent a PM to ask Nodyin if there was some functionality that DR had over FoA that justified such a huge cost, and he responded that they're on different timers and that you can use both. Was a "The Sky is Blue" answer, in that while it may be the truth, it completely did not answer the question I asked. DR is a complete waste, just use FoA and call it good.

As for Bentolf himself, the easiest choice woudl be to wait till he's at 50% when he's not spell-immune anymore.

Get a Bard to Harmony of Sound him, you will have greater success in getting your spells to stick. Bard debuff resists ftw
