the individual quests/tasks give significantly less faction than the group quests do. I've heard somewhere in the neighborhood of about 20% of the faction a group mission gives, but I don't know how accurate that is or is not.

From a group standpoint doing Katta faction my personal experiences are:

4 missions to go from apprehensive to indifferent
4 missions to go from indifferent to amiable
16 missions to go from amiable to kindly (wow)
...

I'm still kindly currently.

The orux value for missions changes. The faction stays the same. This would mean you can not go by orux value.

I could do the exact same missions as you, but one month later and we could have the same faction but you can have double my orux.

I've heard before that the faction scales like the Orux does, and now you're saying that the faction stays the same. Has anyone got anything concrete to back up either opinion?

When you say library missions, are you referring to the solo quest where you steal books from the library in katta, or some other quest/mission?
