AA diferences for bots and mains

Bots are generally considered not to be near the full effectiveness of a main. Since less attention is paid to them they need differnt AA paths. As an example when I am botting (95%) of the time, I don't hit Pained Memory every 18 seconds, I am lucky to hit it every other mob. So for me Expansive Mind was a very imporntat AA, moreso even then Spirital Channeling.

I tend to focus my bot on what will help my tank, for example Crits on HoT, Longer buffs, Quick buffs (so Spiritual Serenity goes off faster), spell casting subtelty. Last weekend when I played my shaman in Skylance 1-3, as a shaman not as a bot, I discovered that the Defensive AA which I ignored since I rarely got aggro as a bot caem and bit me in the rear. As a bot Defensive AA was nto important, as a single toon it is.

What AA do people consider necesarry for a bot? That might not be as needed if you were playing just a shaman.

The AA priorities are fairly similar to what mains get, depending on the type of content you are playing in I would think. Realistically though, the only time a two boxed character gets to be a problem is when you are in an major AE environment or when some sort of individual kneejerk reaction response is imposed by the event.

There are some important differences though. Firstly, a 2 boxed character can't react as dynamically as a single character, and for that reason defensive AAs should be a pretty high priority. The second thing to keep in mind is that agro management on a two boxed character is an order of magnitude better than any solo one, simply because you have much more information available to you and can respond in an appropriate manner far more effectively. For example, when playing my warrior and shaman together it is very rare to pull agro onto my shaman, even with bad pulls getting 2 or 3 significant mobs. Playing solo it is much more difficult to do that simply because you dont get the real time feedback about what the tank is doing and when they are doing it. Superficially that would suggest that defensive AAs are less important, BUT, when you do pull agro, you need them more than a solo shaman would because of the dynamic responsiveness issue. A duoed shaman usually needs to be able to take the pounding under those circumstance (rare as they may be) so that the tank can regain agro ASAP. Main shaman tend to do laps around the fight area, which makes it far more difficult for tanks to regain agro, and pretty much impossible for a two boxed tank.
