I was talking to John on IM about the new site, and he's ribbing on me about EQ things (he retired around Velious). He mentioned slam and I realized I had almost completely forgotten we even GET slam. Anybody still use it or find it valuable?

I still use it because on the very rare rare rare chance that it hits (yay for zero skill cap) it has a small chance to interupt casters. Other than on caster mobs, and really only on clerics, i never use it.

I do find it frustrating that clerics who used to not be able to slam or bash, can now bash quite effectivly to interupt caster, as well as their stuns for interupts, and shaman dont have any effective way to interupt casters. Due to changes in how NPC's cast that were put in years ago, not even the KB from VP or our poision dots (yes, they have a kb component, most people forget about it) doesnt interupt casters anymore.

The only way I can /usualy/ interupt a caster is to pop off my swarm pet.

No I don't bother, it hardly ever worked. Swarm pets and dogdog and possibly melee with stun proc is about all I do.

I gave up on Using "slam" a long time ago. Quite Frankly I forgot I even had that ability

Bank 3 of hotkeys, button 1. Used whenever I melee, which is about never.

Bash skill, please.

I actually find it quite useful, as stated mainly when solo for C heal interruptions as the refresh on slam is about the same as the time that NPCs wait to attempt casting again. And I find it actually works about 9 times out of 10 for blocking out C heals as long asI hit it right as they start to cast.

I use it to interrupt CH every now and then. I still use it. Might be one of the rare ones
