Shaman had the only viable group cure ... until OoW. is a much better spell in almost all applications. Clerics also get Desperate Renewal now, and Puratus coming up. We're done being "the curing class"

Vivifcation can be handy but it's also ALOT of mana. It can be useful if you need to heal the group in addition to curing them but it still uses alot of mana and clerics are often busy elsewhere. Desperate renewal is a straight group heal and while they may be related they aren't always. AM's DT for example in anguish.

Puratus is interesting RGC is still better for curses and cleric already cured poisons better with Antidote or Abolish Poison. Either of which is equal to or better than puratus.

I'm confused about what Desperate Renewal has to do with this conversation. Desperate Renewal, the DOD spell does not cure and is not a group heal spell. It says in Lucy that it is a group spell, but it isn't...at least it has never worked that way for me. Is there another desperate renewal?

Nope, thats the Desperate Renewal being refered too ...

It may say group in Lucy ..... but in game it's a single target, large heal for a huge mana cost, that doesn't cure a damn thing with a 2 min recast ... AHL is infinately better ....

Our guild clerics extensively tested it when they first got it, and subsequently put it in the back of the spell book (it is totally useless, even more useless then Sloth, BoA and Hungry Plague imho)

Cures were left off live version accidentally, they're waiting in the wings like GoM fix. No spell updates will be made until after Prophesy release. Desperate Renewal IS a cure spell.

Mana cost on Word of Vivification is an issue, but so is the inability of shm to do anything BUT cure, if they're curing. If people take any damage from the AE's that dot them, they're shit out of luck if it's a solo shaman on cures. Hell, you think that's expensive? Add up what it would take for a shaman to do all that WoV does, and then add up the cast times involved!

DR is 30sec recast, btw, not 2min. It heals with the speed of Remedy, 1.5x the strength of AHL. Far from useless.

Ah, I see. I missed the memo about that spell being updated. Desperate Renewal WILL BE a cure spell, whenever they get around to patching it in. That's cool, when I play cleric I use it quite a bit, as-is, since our clerics don't have ancient spells. So it's quite a bit bigger than pious light and almost as fast as remedy.

its not as big as RC6 or word of vivication, but clerics also have at their disposal at this lvl of the game , 2.0 clicky. not likely to cure much, but it does work
