This augment increases the hit points, damage per second, damage mitigation, and noncombat regeneration of pets summoned by level 59 or higher spells. The effect on noncombat regeneration is downright astounding; the 62 Beastlord rarely needs to heal his pet when we play together in the Plane of Nightmare, since his pet heals itself up by the time we pull the next mob!

Next pet Q: Should we carry round pet toys that are NOT summoned, Like:

1. Tantor's Tusk ?
2. Weighty Polearm ?
3. player crafted armor ?

will they dissappear when pet or I die??

Or

should we ask mage for best toys like in articale ( see above link ), and will summoned pet toys have to be asked for each time we bring pet out to play?

EXAMPLE: cleric cast Conviction on me, this Aa will let pet get conviction without cleric casting it again.

Short answer: no.

There are some items in the game database that would allow us to make use of foci such as Servant of Chaos, but the recipes to make them were reputedly pulled at the last minute before Depths of Darkhollow launched.

I tend to go after one-handed weapons with useful procs depending on what I'm doing. Classics include serrated bone dirks (snare) and gnoll hide lariats (stun). If you hand your pet a set of store-brought leather armour he'll tank a fair bit better against Nadox mobs, but it won't make much difference against anything tougher... unless you hand over some grandmaster armour, perhaps!

Once you get Persistent Minion, you'll only need to get pet toys when you or the wolf dies. Indeed, I've had the same wolf for the past two weeks and I'll be most upset when he eventually snuffs it!

Pet Affinity is a great AA and was one of the first things I purchased with my saved AAs (even though it was something like 20 AAs!)
Advanced Pet Discipline rank one comes in handy if you VP a mob away and the wolf goes after it - you can redirect him to the mob you want to focus on. The second rank does nothing, sadly (I'd hoped it would stop the pet proccing Leopard and/or weapons, but it doesn't).

I'm still miffed at the things that nearly made it in previous expansions...

Rabid Companion which would have given our pet an innate proc like beastlords get and Fury of the Ancients, which would have allowed our pet to crit (and our swarm pets as well). Annoyingly Shadowknights get that crit AA and yet they use their pets even less than we do!

No. That focus works only for necromancers, magicians and beastlords because their pets are slightly different. Sometimes you may see a mage repeatedly summoning pets and dismissing them, because the summoned pet has a variable level. Our pets are fixed levels. Even if the focus items were shaman usable, it would be a waste.

Until you get your level 61 pet spell, the only useful summoned/mage weapons are the fists of ixiblat. Those will proc for pets as low as level 10. The only special pet weapons I get are snaring weapons for situational farming of mobs that run a lot. Almost always it is: muzzle of mardu (haste), crystal belt/girdle (hp + stats), 2 weapons (usually I pick suitable stuff for where I'm heading, for example, never pick cold procking weapons when farming stuff in sirens grotto or kedge since those mobs are about immune from cold).

for pet pulling, pet has to be green to you, not to mob. The mob doesnt really care if your level 70 or 7, so long as your pet is green to you. Thus the reason you cant pull lvl 80 mobs single with your highest level pet. While it would most definetly be green to it, it wouldn't be to you.

I disagree with a number of statements made here.

I'll have to go back and verify but I'm pretty damn sure I use Howler to split yellow cons in RS and that Howler (lvl 55 spell, level 49 pet?) is light blue to me and would be green to the mob.

I have also observed that I can in fact buff Wunshi and Conviction on my lowest level pets. As recently as a couple weeks ago I buffed a green mage pet with wunshi and conviction to split pull in NToV. What I believe to be the case (and again I'll have to verify) is that buffing pets is tied to the level of their owner, not the level of the pet.
