most of the time the shaman using turgurs are clicking their TA, which has zero recast time, and lands fairly well most of the time, and just as well as discord if you malos first (or are in a raid and others are tashing, malos, malosinia, or HoSing mobs). TA is mana free also.
Discord/nihil were great for their fast casting times, but the extra long recast, coupled with very short duration give them major draw backs...would you want to have a 4k hitting raid mob loosing slow? or would you like to be recasting slow on the mem-bluring 3k hitting mob? not me, i'l cast turgurs.
some shaman, me included are asking for a updated turgurs...something with the best of both slows, long duration, normal recast, and resist check...after all turgurs is 19 lvls old, and a mainstay against raid targets

On raid encounters I don't want to be refreshing slow every 90 seconds.
I pre-slow with BoD then follow up with Turgurs once I malos the mob then I'm free to add whatever else I can for another 6-7 mins before re-slowing.

yes there shold be something done to blend those spells. a updated turgurs with resist check (chromatic /drool!) would bank 99% of TA's. slowing is our MAIN job, despite what soe wants to believe, and a cursed line of spells (balance, long recast is the curse of the fast casting side) is but a bandaid to the problem. a true fix is for devs to realize shaman are there to debuff and slow, and design mobs with the knowledge we are going to be there. verant didnt have a problem understanding this, soe does.

Looking at my logs there are at least 1k entries with me casting Turgurs and like 5k entries of discord. Now my log goes back to like june, and i didnt get TA till 2 weeks ago(ya i go click happy on TA)
I always use my TA now in GoD zones(for raids) i use it in RS sometimes to, and i get a resist i click discord, let tank get aggro and click ta again. Having TA helps sooooo much that i really dont use discord much at all.
