How to fix Spirit Idol

I'm not sure how to calculate a % chance to resist versus the straight up -40 resist debuff, but I'm guessing that we would need more than 4% for this hypothetical new aura. Prophet's Guide has a 40% effect, and tho I don't have it myself, I hear that's a decent amount, but doesn't guarantee the following spells to be unresisted.

For the record, since I've not seen anyone mention it, Idol of Malos looks to be a better effect than the chanter's AE debuff.

Imo, the whole idea was retarted. Although if they fix it to stick around forwhile after the idol is gone, it's acceptable. Otherwise, you might as well give me an AE malos spell.

On the otherhand, i would have rather had something different all together. Veril's idea is the best imo. Personaly i wouldn't mind seeing some sort of avoidance aura. Similiar to the monk one, except ours would be strait up avoidance +whatever. Mabey 5% for 55 10% for 70. Not really sure how avoidance works exactly, so those number are just out of my bum.

Fixed or not, doubt i'll mem this alot. Although it was usefull for chain pulling in fob while PLing haha.( this is the only time i've memed it :p ) Stick that sucker out in the middle and just wait.

The 55 idol was the thing that kept me sane during my recent camp for the Fabled Supple Scale Armband in KC. Clear room, jump on table, drop Idol, back into corner, /tell my hunting partner 'INC Boney Army!' and wait ...

Listen for the sound of thundering feet hurtling down the stairs and then watch as all the mobs from above storm in like The Spanish Inquisition from Monty Python. Breaks the monotony nicely and scared the hell out of my buddy the first time it happened too.

must be my display options but ive never seen any of the aura graffics/NPCs/targeting issues...malos idol (actually, all traps) shows up on cycle NPC. if you only use F8 (or what ever you mapsed it too) then your hoseing yourself. persoanly (and i use the numberpad for movement) i have "F8" set to numpad0 and cycle NPC to numpad1 (cycle PC is numpad9). so with 1 hand, while moving i can cycle both targets and npc's and hit the closest NPC if needed. its somethign ive had set up long before Idols/traps. if targeting is your biggest bitch, modify yourself some to improve your shaman.

that said, i rarely (read never) use malos idol, to me it hasnt shown itself practical in any raid situations yet...liability outwieghs the benifit. mostly i get bitched at if i use it (folks bitch about it like necros catch flak for WTD), its just more clutter when theres already adds/multipulls (why else would you use an ae debuff...?)in camp. i tried using it while farming seb frogs (yay for high end spell designed fo greeny farming, thanks DoD!!!), but i rearely have resists to our cone AE or VS (which i use for the rune component really, but the extra bit of slow help when im getting smacked around and NEED to regen some hps at he same time). so idol really just took up the spel gem i was using for single taret dot for the stray mobs who work themselfs eside me.

idol seemed good in concept, but hasnt panned out (for me) in practice. noone but me is counting on malos to land so they can nuke anyways, they all have their own builti in mods and are already nuking while im waiting on malos to finish casting anyways
