Is there a difference between a Monk's FD agro transfer and a Necro/SK since the Monk has it as an ability, and the Necro/SK cast it as a spell?

So I was mucking around with Idol of Malo (the level 55 one) on my lowbie shaman in an LDoN last night, and I really have to say that it didn't seem to generate squat for aggro. A big pull would come in, I would drop the idol and not get aggro from anything until I started slowing. Similarly, even if the idol was still up on the next two pull, I still didn't seem to get aggro from anything right off the bat. More scientific testing is definitely needed, but a death sentance, this was not.

as a ranger with a shaman alt i have sympathy with you. we didnt get an aura, because all the neat ones were given to pure melee, we got a naff baby version of a druid root because our trap was so useless in beta.

rangers on our raids are MA's, the idol really annoys everyone for targetting. we dont use them. a miss target can blow scripts because of delay and for that reason only it needs fixing
