I should add that I'm not really intending to be overly critical here, I just think it's misguided. If you get your fun from appearing high on parses, then fine.... Though I'll still think you're playing the wrong class.
Now, if only there were parses for the amounts healed, so healing classes could have some measure of their relative lack of afk-ness!

Necro DPS is sick, and totally secret.
I prefer nuking to DoTing. I get a lot less aggro from it, and I see criticals as big numbers on the screen that are really obvious, DoT Crits aren't as obvious and I dunno, they aren't as much fun to see

I've never parsed my numbers, and really am not that interested.
For a raid, my biggest joy comes from being in a group of me, bard, zerk, monk, ranger, ranger, and keeping them alive while 4 of them show up in the top 5 for parsed dps.

For Parsing, what matters is the defensive DPS you tak, when you are rampage tank for Jelevan or Zi-Thule or Vule, and you survive while powering up the group and healing them and you,
