Shaman Main

I did some testing with sloth yesterday when I wanted to have some fun in Crypt of Decay. I did the Carpin Cycle for some tribute items and pulled trains of about 20 to 30 mobs each time. I box a warrior and ranger, but play a shaman. First of all, I have never parsed anything nor do I really know how to so this info is just what I noticed. BTW my warrior has 2.0 main and swiftcleaver secondary.

I cast sloth on my warrior before he pulls, he bring back a nice fun train that normally I would just AOE with the ranger and shaman, but this time I wanted to see how he attacks. It was really sad seeing how slow he attacked my targeted mob. It was almost to the point that mobs all around him were taking nearly as much dps from dmg shield being on and repositles.

In closing, sloth effects swing rates just like lassitude and reptile skin. It's very noticable with tons of green mobs all over your warrior if you want to try it out for yourself.

If someone can describe how to properly parse I, I will try my best to show proof of my above statement, but I am 100% sure sloth is just like the rest of the buffs that have been proven.

The parser I used is EQ Companion from
Using it is fairly simple, just make sure you /log on (if you aren't set to automatically log) for the character that you are parsing.

By a considerable fluke, this morning some guildies were after the L68 DoD spell/disc for their alts. So I tagged along, spent four hours or so and ended up with Sloth. 68.3 was a walk in the park compared to the last time I tried, needless to say.

As suspected earlier, its effect is similar to Lassitude when it comes to slowing melee - indeed, these 2-minute parses against three mobs in DS (with a 6/24 hammer) slow a greater slowdown than Lassi, but that's entirely down to the RNG.

The figures:

Without Sloth: 29 crushes, 20 misses (49 total)
With Sloth: 17 crushes, 13 misses (30 total)

So, as expected by others on the thread the slowdown is a common theme with all defensive procs.

The raw parse data are available here:

http://www.medvale.fsnet.co.uk/sloth1
http://www.medvale.fsnet.co.uk/sloth2

(Note that Sloth doesn't provide any messages when it goes off, you just get the "swirling stars" effect to show it.)

Addendum: Purely out of interest after doing the above I equipped an instaclicky earring and set autoattack on. I then spam clicked the earring as fast as possible, but still managed to swing as normal in melee, with no extra delay incurred. That's odd, as clickies are affected by certain AAs so presumably are also treated as being a cast spell...

Well from all I have read, Greyhelm has had PM's with a dev and it seems to be something that isnt intentional and that they werent aware of before. They are aware now and so its just a matter of waiting to see what if anything gets done, and wait on an official announcement.
