I know for a fact that the page dropped from the masked halflings on the castle walls in PoM (as semi-rare drop). But that was quite a while ago before the various changes to PoM so i am not sure if it's still the same today.

Jara may have just been lucky, but I have to second the Plane of Mischief route. I went into the zone, invised and carefully made my way past the bixies and shrooms (had to kill a couple) to the moat. Opened the map, saw the leftmost invisible bridge and went up. Camped the masked halflings right there at the top, and within 30 minutes I had the "rare" page drop.
I remember considering LDoNs, and I was one who put together many a group back when, and even after, it was popular. I considered getting 800 points too much time to invest. I camped the bazaar for awhile hoping for that rare Yaeth page, and always saw the wrong one (left side instead of right). Later, after trying a few other leads, I ran into PoM with a jaded hope of getting the page drop. I didn't know about the invisible bridge at first, so spent a couple runs just trying to figure out how to get inside the building. Someone finally clued me in about the invisible bridge, and the rest is history. I was 65 or younger then, because I had a list of researchable spells and parts I needed to get scribbled down in a notebook... got Form of the Greater Bear, Levitation, and a couple others that way.
I never went inside that building, but maybe someday I will, as I seem to recall there are some interesting drops in there that might still be worth getting even if just for novelty's sake.

The best solution is not either/or, but best-of.

Wanted to add that PoM is the way to go for those that need the spell.
Spent less than 2hrs killing everything from the wall on into the castle and got yaeth page 73 right along with quite a few other pages. Much easier for me than doing LDONS or farming pp.
