How does that happen?

I was in Greater Rabid Bear form, wielding my 1.5 with Veintapper Aug. Champion, 1.5 click, and Panther were on me; not sure what auras/clickies were from the group - two Rangers, Rogue, Monk, Warrior, and me.

Most hits were for 68; a few for less, a few for the low 100s, a couple for 140s. And the one for 355.

So what was that... a critical hit or something?

Yes, cleave works on all classes out there, including shaman. See my face piece for my cleave item (cleave III, stupid mask of tears won't drop for me ). I don't recall having ever hit for that high before though, but I don't use rabid bear.

dont rogue epics clicks have some sort of effect that makes melee dmg higher? might be crit only like our epic though

On regular mobs I hit uppper 600's lower 700's on a melee crit with my greatstaff of power. Have had melee crits for 2kish on things like Vish eggs, thats always fun.

I'd kill for an upgrade to my greatstaff though. Caster useable two-handers are so friggen rare which sucks since 2hb weapons rot all the time.

It really wouldn't break anything to allow casters to use the same 2hb that melee do. Our dps is hamstrung by our melee skill caps far more than anything a silly ratio will do. They only have to look back to Velious, where that caster dagger was 20/20 when the highest, most elite of melee had 13/20s. In PoP, the priest mace from groupable elemental named was 32/23; the raid melee 1h from the same tier were 17/20. And yet at no time has non-melee classes' melee damage ever been a factor in anything. It's silly I think to deny vain pleasure in meaningless melee.
