I just got Vindictive Spirit last night, and I've been thinking about its possible uses. (Only 1 more to go, then I'm only 2 expansions behind!)
According to Lucy, it is basically a 50 percent PBAE slow that lasts 3 ticks. It also autocasts "Vindictive Spirit Recourse", which mitigates melee damage by 50% (up to 1600 points total). Finally, the spell has a -100 resist modifier. The cast time is exactly 3.0, so I'm assuming its affected by detrimental spell haste but has a duration of only 3 ticks so would not be affected by (most) deterimental spell extensions.
The obvious use that jumps out at me would be for when clearing trash on a raid. I'd be concerned about getting agro from mobs that haven't yet been picked up by a tank, but not overly so.
It seems like it would not be useful for farming (duration too short) when AEing unless you had a group of AEers with you. Fair enough.
It seems like it *might* be useful when trying to slow a really tough to slow mob. 55 (malos) + 50 (tash) + 100 would give you a 200 resist modifier for your attempt to land the slow. Thats not bad, especially since bards could add to that. It would be a pretty short slow, though.
Are there any other uses for this spell that I'm missing? It doesn't seem like a bad spell (nor does it seem like a great spell).
Any thoughts?
