DoD - Dreadspire access

Well, I guess since Dalnoth decided to post this on EQ Live forums and now it's on CastersRealm as well, I'll do the favor of everyone around and just post the information here as well.


Four parts of the mission and then a final turn in:

1st task:

Starts with Treddlehoop in Corathus. He gives you a scavenger hunt mission when you say to him "shoppin"

Scavenger Hunting

Loot 1 Shiliskin Tentacle Cluster from a Shiliskin - Illsalin Ruins: easy drop off yellow cons, past undead arena
Loot 1 Drachnid Silk Gland from Drachnids - Hive - drops off yellow cons, near living bridges more often, tried blue cons, wasn't dropping
Loot 2 Chopping Sword from a deep orc - Stoneroot Falls - random drop, can be hard to pull, use harmony, i think the ones holding swords, has a chance to drop them.

2nd part:

Brovil in Corathus

Talk to him and do the pre-quest thing if you need to involving Ciccero's notebook and finding it and giving it to the spider next to Brevil if you have to. You need to complete his Lost Notebook task. The info for this is in the level 69 spell info section.

Mazil in Corathus. Talk to him and he'll give you a task

Lost Gnomes

Find your way into the hatchery - the Hive
Help four gnomes escape - hive

Not too hard. We precleared most of the room when we started before we opened the coccoons just in case they spawned adds. It didn't get hard until the last pull when the gnome spawned he brought with him three mobs. I pulled the entire time and never had more than 2 in camp unless it was intended.

4th part:

Find Zahn in Undershore on the beach near the Prophet's camp

Deserting the Ranks:

Enter the Nargilor Pits in Illsalin - Illsalin
Just like the first mission in the 70 spell info, you must clear to, find and loot the key to open the door behind the Guardian of the Pit. After that, you all need to move inside once the Guardian is dead. The door will shut and lock and you will fail the expedition basically if all are not inside. Emperor Draygun comes out and rezzes the Shiliskin legionaires one at a time until the end, when he rezzes the final three.

Now, return to Treddlehoop with all four items. If you have talked to him before, he gives you information about needing four items - a monocle, ring, necklace and a prism

So, give him all four items and he gives you:



With this, take it to the top of the Hive and you will be able to zone into Dreadspire. Oh, and watch out for Drithnik the Exiled in the Hive, and also make sure that you bring along invis vs. undead potions for Dreadspire.

There are a ton of unmined named in Dreadspire. Difficulty wards off pickup groups, like most of Ice-side Riftseekers' Sanctum

Indeed, the zone is fairly difficult for your run of the mill xp groups that would actually use most of the drops. If you are fully geared in DOD group mission stuff (like me and my groups) it is certainly doable. Though some half the drops will probably rot/be picked up for fairly linear swaps for focus/effect for you at that point.

Wanderer respawn in the zone is 8 minutes. Statics are longer. There are a variety of AEs and unfortunate and punishing effects, such as charm (puller gets charmed and leads 50 mobs to eat group), huge dots, Z-axis train issues are better but still exist. "xp mobs" have at least twice as much HP as riftseeker mobs, and nameds are 5x as much as the exp mobs (3+ minute fights).
