Kirn soloable at 65?
Posted: Sat Sep 03, 2005 8:08 pmI tried three different times to do exactly that when I was 65 with 150-ish AA. The closest I got was 2 floors down from him in the same building.
I have no doubt that Kirn would be soloable. He's fairly weak really. The problem is getting to him. There's a fairly even mix of live ratmen and undead ghosts down there, and they're packed pretty closely together in some places. I made it about halfway (up to gargoyles) without fighting by using invis and ivu potions, but that still leaves a lot of fighting to do. There really aren't any safe spots to rest, and you have to keep moving as respawn is pretty quick. Quite often I found myself engaging 4-5 mobs at a time. Even so, I think i might have made it, except for the fact that nearly everything will run on low hp, and any kind of a snare we can come up with is pretty unreliable.
I finally managed to duo it with a 65/300 monk friend. The added dps made it so much easier.
It might be possible to solo it, but it would take an inordinate amount of luck, and you'd REALLY have to be on top of your game.
