Halloween Quest Walk Through

Halloween Quest for 2005 From Nindyinya of Vazelle/Maelin Starpyre

1) Hail Zigan (I am half asleep, so his is the only name I may have gotten wrong) the goblin in Pok near Calibis stone. Repeat bracketed phrases.

2) Go to Kithicor forest, Mippie is at the entry to RV Hail her and repeat bracketed phrases. Get recipe book, complete the recipes and hand her the goodies. Your reward is 5 dose illusion potion.(keep this potion it is your costume to get the mask at end of the quest)

** All recipes need the following, and also use of dairy spoon, mixing bowl, oven/spit, brew barrel and ice cream churn. It is best to have at least 125 in brewing and baking on this quest. Spices are found at vendors, pumpkin flesh and seeds drop off of scarecrows and jack-o-lanterns in WK, NK and Unrest.**

(HINT!!--If you look in bazaar you MIGHT be able to find the final turn in stuff for sale, for it is tradeable. YOU DO NOT need 1 of each item, you could turn in 5 pies, 5 breads, 5 seeds, 5 cider, or 5 shakes. Or a combination of any 5, as long as you turn in 5 pumpkin treats. a) Pie = 2 cups flour, 2 pumpkin flesh, 2 egg batter, 1 bottle of milk, 1 cup sugar, 1 pack pumpkin spice, pie tin. (bake)

b) Bread = 4 cups flour, 1 pumpkin flesh, yeast, 2 egg batters, bread tin. (bake)

c) Seeds = 2 Handfulls of pumpkin seeds, 1 sprinkle black pepper, 1 butter, copper sheet. (bake)

d) Spiced Cider = 2 pumpkin flesh, 1 pack pumpkin cider spice, yeast, hops, barley. (brew barrel)

e) Shake = 1 pumpkin flesh, 1 bottle of Sweet milk, rock salt, ice of velious. ( combine in ice cream churn)
....

3) Hail Oldman Dray in the NW corner of Kithicor and repeat bracketed phrases. *Get Trick or Treat bag for scavenger hunt, get items below by hailing NPC with saying "Trick or Treat". LINT, SAND, ROCKS, BROKEN TWIG is not candy they are tricks DESTROY those and redo the hail and Trick or Treat. When bag is full, combine and return to Dray for Bristlebane admission ticket and Candy (*uncovered so far: Pumpkin Candy 6 str, 6 dex, 6 sta, 20 hp. Tasty Sugar Pop 25 str, 25 sta, 40 hp. Sweetened Gummy Bears 10 str, 5 sta, 10 wis, 10 int 5 agi, 40 mana, 40 end. Caramel-Coated Candy Apples 10 str, 5 dex, 5 str, 10 wis, 10 int, 35 hp, 35 mana, 35 end, 5 svm.)

(any time you do not get the piece listed below, you must skip that part for now, destroy what you got, i.e a chunk of coal, and go do another trick or treat, after you do one other trick or treat, you can come back and try again. Or you can camp, and come back and try again.)

[also when ever some one does the hail on some of these mobs they automatically respawn so you need to do some running around]

a) Unrest, Crabby the Rotten (random pop in hedges) = Candy Jack-o-lantern

b) PoK, Maelin Starpyre (top of library) = Jawbreaker

c) E.C., Sergent Ragus (roams trails) = Rock Candy

d) Field of Bone, Immug (random pops nearest to dragon carcass) = Gummy Kolbalds

e) Iceclad, Nelef the Chef (in gnome hut near succor/dock area 4554, 1369) = Chocolate Coin

f) Toxillia Forest, Fuzz Selppe (random pop BUT ALWAYS pops on same side as Kerra Ridge island) = Caramel Apples

g) Mistmore Graveyard, Nate is ghoul in back = Fairy Fizzles

h) Netherbain Lair, Poil Lolp (random pop in caves usually near 314, -594 MS cave area or Trog cave areas) = Lollypop

i) W.Karana, Scary Miller the scarecrow (random pops all over the field a pain to find) = Candy Corn My estimate on his loc is -2700 -4000, its in that general area with the field.

j) Befallen, Wrapps McGee is a mummy (take the locked door, either use a bard/rogue or kill random sk pop for splintered key. Go down pit after unlocking door and turn left, go down steps and he is hiding below them in nook.) = Tasty Candy
(if you look on map, you see a elf skeleton labled, go there, wrapps mcgee is behind the door, that is locked, hug the door and cycle through npc's and you should target him, and do the hail and say trick or treat)

4) Go find Dressed up Halfling at loc 1097, -578,-37 (near WC and closest to merchant Grace's building). Hail him and repeat bracketed phrase. Get a Bloody Vampire Cape and Bloody Vampire Fangs off thief hiding in PoH (High lvl)/ Katta Castelleum (Mid lvl)/or Mistmore Castle (Low lvls). Return the items to the dressed up halfling for Bristlebane admission ticket and a lvl able ring. (Your individual lvl depends on where your quest sends you & also on what type of ring you get. This is a NO DROP item. The ring is a lvl required item and varies in stats depending upon your lvl and class. *You may also need port for this quest* (PoH is a no exit area, you will need a neriak clr guild stone to get port there. Bring gate potion if you can not get port out and don't want to die and use the DoN guild lobby summoning.)

**(HUGE HELP HERE: If your one of the lucky ones to own DoD, this will help you immensly: Get a level 20 spirit shroud, doesnt matter what kind. Go to the dressed up halfling and do the hails, when you recieve your task it will send you to MM, instead of Pohate. Go back to the spirit shroud and remove it. Now as your self you can go to MM and kill the green con vampire to get the cloak and fang, rather than having a grp go to pohate and wipe cuz the bats around the vampire suck)**

Plese note: Doing the lvl 20 spirit shroud yields level 20 loot when you finish the task, instead of level 70 equivalant item. Same goes for the Bone collector. However i just wanted to mask at the end, which has its full stats for a level 70(if ur 70).

5) Go find Barsin, he is a scarecrow near the lake in Kithicor forest loc -92.99, -22, 15.8 (he is by the lake). Hail him and repeat bracketed phrases. You will need a group of more then 3 to do this quest. Go then to Wall of Slaughter, each member of the group will need to loot at least 1 GLOWING SKULL. Return the skulls to Barsin get Bristlebane gift.

***(Okay same thing as the above task, get a lvl 20 spirit shroud, get the task, and go remove your shroud, and the task you recieve takes you to Kurns, Unrest and befallen, and takes about 30min to finish, hand in the bones and a skelly will spawn afterward, cons green, drops range item.)**

6) Now find Cathil, the storyteller, and his puppet Wenan at loc 1228, 1068 (near house on trail in Kithicor). Hail and repeat bracketed phrases. You will need a group of more then 3 members for this quest. *Then hail the puppet. You must say this phrase or close to it. "Wenan, will you please, tell me a tale?" He will refuse UNLESS you have something to give him. Turn in 1 Bristlebane Ticket. Now, he will give you a task. The only 1 at this moment, that I do know of, is the defending of the Cave areas. I believe this is the only task you get.

**(Info on the task is as follows: Get a grp of 4 or more, do not worry about spirit shrouds for this one. When you get the task, you get to pic 1 of 6 monster templates. Cazic Thule--SK, Rallos Zek(looks like AoW)-Warrior, Bertoxx--Necro, Terris Thule--Enchanter, Tunare--Druid, Erolsii Marr--cleric. after your grp picks the monster, you say story to Wenan and follow the bracketed phrases until he zones you into the instance. THis encounter is about 15-20minutes long. Head to RV tunnel and move out about 10 yeards in front. There are 3 waves of 'armies'. The 1st armie consists of a blue con mob, and about a dozen green con red skellies. Have the rallos/CT get aggro on the blue con, while the other protects the casters from the green con mobs. The 2nd wave is just like the first. The 3rd wave how ever has 3 armies in it. They each attack one at a time, so its the same as the above waves, 1 blue con and about a dozen green. WHen you get to the last army of the 3rd wave, the named there cons white, and drops Shield of the Void usually(if your all lvl 70). Loot up and remove from task to port out.

7) Finally, after you have done each task as above go back to PoK and while wearing a costume go and rehail Zigan the goblin at the tree near the Calibis stone, and he will give you your mask. Which has 15ac, 135hp/mana some stats and right clicks Illusion: Frost Bane, 5 sec cast, must equip.

The Illusion potion is irrelevant, all you need is to have an illusion up. My 1/2 elf paladin got a 1/2 elf illusion potion and my human monk got a human illusion potion. In both cases the goblin told me to bugger off.

In both cases, I then grouped them with my chanter, who used project illusion (fire elemental, because that's the one I use on my melees who get beat on) and they both were given the mask.

So, you just need any illusion

Veril, did you try using the potions anyway, so they had an illusion buff on, even if it was their natural race? I'm just curious if it checked for the buff or something else.

In order to land an illusion with my chanter, I had to cancel the illusion (of same race) and then have my chanter cast his illusion.

My Chanter never bothered to drink any dose of any potion at all, he just did an illusion and hailed, and got the mask (doh, I obviously did all the tasks 1st)

I'm convinced that you just need to have an illusion up by any means to succeed.

wasnt playing this time last year so kinda glad they have it again.

quest is very easy. though the baking/brewing part is hell. 20+ people in the zone for 3-4 mobs that are on a 10-15 minute spawn. ugh....

I didn't know for certain if this would be up again, but took a chance and farmed a couple stacks of pumpkin flesh and pumpkin seeds before the Halloween events went live. Glad I did and my monk alt now has the illusion mask, and sadly the mask is an upgrade as well.
