It depends on what the augs do. It could potentially be better than cultural with all those slots.

It is unfortunate that they keep sticking type 7 slot's on gear that would probably fit the bill nicely for many mid to low-end guilds who regularly pull in type 8 augs.

I -suspect- that the type 13 slot is the "affected by goofy arsed power source" slot, since we've never seen type 13 augs before. No idea WTF is up with the type 1 and type 2 though. Haven't seen a type 2 since like, LDoN.

So far I have seen the helm, gloves, and bracers. It's alot of 190 hp/mana stuff. It looks nice for the average player. Course I haven't seen any of the Tier3 or 4 armors yet. Had someone play with the powersources. The "growth" one added +50 hp/mana but hacked 1/2 the AC off.

Hopefully that is some whack-ass bug. AC cut in half for 50hp? That is gonna hurt if those suckers are pricy to remove. =/

If they're like they were in beta, I'll go with Veril's assessment: Go with the Earth one if at all possible. Most of the others reduce HP, AC, or both. Earth increases AC, HP, Mana, Regen, FT, Shielding, and Stun Resist, and procs root on Energian weapons. Earth decreases Agi and Dex.

If that's true, why would anyone go for anything BUT earth? It all seems a bit daft to me....

Different classes and playstyles value things differently. Most casters and priests don't seem to care about AC and HP as much as we do, or shielding or stun at all. They may value better all-around resists, or Int/Wis/FT above Str/Sta/Regen. The point of this stuff is to have options... like the old Ulthork armor - Benefits some things, penalizes others. It's just that the playstyle and gear choices of most Shamans seems to coincide with the reported Earth benefits. I'm sure some Shamans will chose otherwise. I expect that most classes will have one or two favored powersources. But, unlike the archetype armor, where you get stuck with what the devs though all chain classes wanted, you get to pick and choose, to some extent.

Btw, it seems that every faction level you go up unlocks more stuff for you. At indifferent, I was able to see bracer and gloves (I think). At amiable, I can also see hat and er... something else. 4 items anyway.

At indifferent, I could get Talisman of Persistence Rk.II, at amiable I could get Lassitude Rk.II.

Ok i reached ally a couple hours ago and decided to get a new bp(700 orux in katta). shows a type7 augslot and a type13 augslot(with the description energian:group or something).
I'm not sure about the type13 augslot tbh, but when i put the bp in birdbath to put in the ashengate aug it showed the type13 slot as empty. Anyone seen any type13 augs? :p I sure as hell haven't..
Anyway with the (20 orux in katta) powersource equipped and the ashengate aug it lands at 399hp/mana and 104ac which is pretty damn hot for groupable gear. Although the agi is severely reduced(think it was at +4 or something but who cares)
Also, to prevent getting questions about how many missions needed to get this armor... it's 48 completed tasks to reach ally and you will then be able to see all the cool stuff

And you purchased that with orux? from group missions? That looks more like raid armor.

That's definately Orux. remember to subtract 100/100 6% spellshield for the augment when you're looking at it.

100 hp and 100 mana aug in it. its just 300 in normal stats.

Interesting though. That's the first groupable 300/300 gear that I've heard of. And will cover visible slots even. Looks like you even get semi-respectable focus. LDoN anyone?

Also all the TBS armor only has a type 7 aug slot if there are type 1, 2 or 13 on them they are invisable in game.
