The Spirit Realm

I love threads like this and we haven't had one in awhile!

My first character was named Llyrenne - she was a bard and all my "usual" internet names were unavailable. I just wanted to start playing so went with something with a "lyrical" sound. I always thought it was a pretty dumb name, but that's what happens when I pick names under pressure.

I started my cleric and shaman on the same day, both names carefully picked out.

Amalthea Dawnglory - I love the name Amalthea, not only does it have significance in Greek mythology, it was also the human name of the Last Unicorn.

Gloriana Frostglitter - I picked Gloriana because it was the nickname of Queen Elizabeth I, I thought it was a good, queenly name for my tall, beautiful barbarian shaman! I later changed the surname to Lleeah`Rio which is Gaelic for ground frost.

Well my very first charicters name came from my playing days in D&D (fitting becouse started due in large part becouse one of the group did and spread through out all of us [IE what happons when just about all of you are sick of being the DM]). In the paper game he was a dorf marksmen specalist, but in game I had thought the ranger would be a good ranger attacker so I made a half elf (this was in days before kunark). His name was Blazestorm. had read no boards and no preinfo so was largely disapointed in my ranger.

My next real charictor was post kunark and made a Iksar SK, by the name of Shylidar (diffrent for me becouse it actully sounds like a first name). But our little group had 1 necro, 1 warrior, 2 SK's, and a monk ...... we needed a healer of some sort. So I volintered (had already messed around with them a bit and read the book saying they where basicly combat medics) And then my Iksar shaman Windfinder was born. His name came from a recently read book in the wheel of time series, but like most of my names was really should have been last names. exseddingly dificult to find a last name for him, but I finally landed on Spiritweaver ....... then Velious was releaced about 4 weeks later and low and behold I had found " MY " armor. Then again the name seems to through peeps off since everynow and then I get tells for ports or skin spells or "wow I did not know Iksar could be druids" ..... and then I want to go and open a can of woop arss on them since I never run around anon or role.

Chewtoy wouldn't get around the spelling nazi's they had in place back then, so Chutoi was born. I was originally Chutoi the warrior meatshield, but I started on a new server with Chutoi the shaman during Kunark. I wanted to be Chutoi Dragonsnack, but it wasn't happening. Chutoi Dogslobber was a 2nd choice!

Haimon is the son of Creon from the Oedipus Rex trilogy by Sophocles, specifically "Antigone" which I believe is the second part. The character really appealed to me through his actions/subsequent fate so I took the moniker. My original surname was Rex but when I returned after a short retirement I changed that to Ariza, taken from the main protagonist in the novel "Love in the Time of Cholera."

Lickity, because frogs have tongues to lick with, and I was not very creative =P

and Split, because it was a fun play on Lickity.

I had to vomit masses of fictional names for RPGs as a GM for years. I knew I did NOT want a name that consisted of iron, spirit, magic, storm, grim, mojo, voodoo, ice, thunder, wolf, bear, dragon, lion, palandromes, or convoluted spellings that phonetically sound like something (Spydermahn, Thuglyfe, Fyrestaaar etc.). A couple miles into a run about a week before beta5, the troll had a name.

Ha, I always figured you were from Seattle - there is a Warren Magnuson state park! I think about you every time I drive by it.

Trinite Dun`Morgul - Erudite Shadowknight. Created because ERU SK's were and still are quite rare and I love the lore behind the Erudite race. Trinity, of course, means 3... quite fitting because Cazic Thule has 3 avatars: Fright, Dread, and Terror. Dun`Morgul came about because in my guild (a rag tag group of RL friends) all had the prefix Dun, and my friend had an Erudite Necromancer named Taerrant Dun`Morgul. We roleplayed it and Trinite was his long lost daughter, so it fit nicely. And to my understanding, Dun`Morgul means "of the dead" or something like it. She was my main for the longest time up until that fell apart and I started playing my shaman more and more, duoing with my GL's monk.

Sorce Omnibus - Barbarian Shaman. Pronounced Sor sa`y. Sucks that I can't get an accent mark on my first name so that people aren't thinking my name is supposed to be Source lol. My friends have dubbed me Kaiser Sorce, from "The Usual Suspects" Kaiser Sosay. Just fun. Omnibus - actually means something that has many uses and since shamans are known for their utility, it seemed fitting. I did want to change it to Idontgetwunshitilsixtyeight when I was 65-67 for a while because people kept asking me for Wunshi lol, but now I'm a REAL shaman ! lol. I've also had a plethora of other characters that I've fooled around with:

Canines: Half-Elf Rogue (I WILL GET A KITTY MASK!) also, my first 3 D&D characters were HE Rogues.
Dissidence: Erudite Necromancer
Read Nstuff: Erudite Wizard
Sanford: Erudite Enchanter (bazaar mule, fitting )


Yes, I love Erudites ! If I could make all my characters Erduites I would, so I just grabbed the closest related race to them to fit
