No, it is fixed duration, Maddoc confirmed at the Vegas FF. He was toying with me...first he told me it was fixed invis, then he told me the component still only dropped in LDONs! Emotions go UP emotions go DOWN.
(it originally was not fixed duration)

LDoN is dead on Luclin too. I hate to see an entire expansion wasted like this. Is this item forageble ? If so I have 3 accounts with a 63 druid on one. May get the missions just to forage the damn things.

Yes, I believe so.
There was a small improvement to the swamp vine drop. Originally, swamp vine was only foraged/dropped in the DG LDON missions. According to Maddoc, the component was changed to be available in every theme and also drops from the chests.

Waste of space. Nobody does LDoN's. Only viable way to get it is to load in foragebot's and forage

Gloriana,
I think your point about the "grab two random people" suggestion is dead on. Either getting two people to come with you *is* supposed to be required, or it's not supposed to be required and is a ridiculous, annoying hoop we are made to jump through for no reason. It is contradictory to require that and then tell us things aren't so bad because you can sneak around it if you try hard enough.
I think whether or not people still do LDoNs is not the argument tactic we should pursue. Maybe some people still do them -- the devs seem to think so at least. But what really matters is that *many* shaman do not do them and have no incentive to do them, and the forage components (and potions made from them) are so rare that we can't find them for sale. We can measure this and verify it by checking in the bazaar, regardless of what the devs say about the popularity of LDoN.
So do they intend for a large majority of people to be unable to get the components for these potions without going through silly mechanics abuse? Assuming they don't, how do they propose to fix it?
This isn't a huge issue, but like you pointed out, the arguments you are hearing just don't make sense.

LDoN gets boxed and that is it. A dead expansion that you can't pay people to go back to and obviously SOE knows this if they are suggesting a revamp of any sort.
Maybe Maddoc needs to play more EQ on regular servers before making an assertion? :p

Strangly enough... LDON does get used... "Alot" may be subjective but a viable response....
On occasions, I do see people in my guild playing in LDON, usually some Bot'er wit a friend toying around... to complete some points, aug some alt's gear, or to farm smithing parts... Usually this is on slow days... I also see lower level people, not sure if they are alts or just slower levelers.. but indeed they are there....
Depending on what report they are looking at, I can see how they feel this expansion is "alive" though the rest of us feel its a dead place(well, certainly dying)... I suppose the only way SoE is really going to know is to open up a poll of sorts to see what people are doing where.. and why?
Hell, LoY is TOTALLY alive.. Look at Hate's Fury, like OMG, it had *2* shaman in there all day.... for OMG *2* days....
