With a missed swing you are also missing the chance to double attack (which should be darned near 100% on any reasonably well geared character these days) or triple attack. Additionally, you are missing the chance to fire off any native proc in the weapon. Worse, if the proc resets all swing counters, you may also be missing the chance to dual wield.

I was told last night that my guild's parse (the Monk and Ranger I mentioned earlier) showed no problems at all with Panther. I'm still waiting on logs or some such.

I think someone that boxes a non hybrid needs to log there fighting for one full day using panther the whole time and one full day not using panther. try to fight simular stuff and see if there is a noticable difference in dps. or something...

Think Vork's point was that because the bug IS the proc going off before the round of swings. That it's just being noticed doesn't make it less of a bug, just one that flew under the radar for a long time because procs weren't considered very important dps-wise. Wild-ass guess on my part, but it seems like the proc should happen at the end of the round (or after the swing the spell procs off),not at the beginning, and that's what's causing people to miss swings.

They dont miss all swings though, apparently just some. I still think the problem (if there is actually one, and the reported parses are not just from some sort of reporting lag) is going to be some sort of code that is imposing a minimum average proc rate, forcing procs in the absence of swings under those circumstances and thereby resetting the real swing timer.
