On raids I have never been interested in parsing my damage since I rarely go for DPS. My personal challenge has always been identifying the relevant groups and then optimising rotations of heals, panther, champ, Epic, sending pets and Stinging.
Where I have wanted to parse myself before, but never have, is on long solo grinds of an hour or more.
The thing I love about being shaman is if I concentrate on timing my AA abilities and cast times, my damage rate can be very consistent. Sometimes I solo for 2-3 hours when I get a nice camp and get in a groove of non-stop casting. At these camps I've often duoed with necros and ended up comparing my kill rates to theirs. Typically they will kill the same mobs twice as fast as me and appear to be able to do it for some time (20 mins maybe more, it's probably gear dependant ?), but what I do notice is they always have to stop and do some mana regen for a few minutes. I never ask them why .. necros are creepy you know.
With OOC regen they are back into it pretty fast, so really shaman can't keep up with a necro in the short term or the long term.
Even though I have no parse data I think a relative comparison to a necro for which we do have parse data shows we do very well. And in fact looking at the numbers in this post (Brohg's 1250ish + Funi's quoted 2800-3000) it would seem that we do close to half the DPS of a necro which supports my obsverations.

On the Orc in Event 2 I have broken 1.2k with T3. I was in a caster group cause we were light on melee DPS so I had nothing else to do. Normally, I pull 4-600 (I know cause we always parse this) with just Sting and spear if I am in a normal melee group. I know of a certian Maelin shaman, that shall remain namesless, that has broken 1600...

Root rotting I always pulled with maloXX, decayed, then VP. now that the mob is debuffed and put in place laid on the top disease dots, alternated magic and poison...using preset spell sets so I can mem all the dots, and keep canni/heals memmed just in case.
I basically lay on these spells in this order, canni’ing when they don’t need replenished to keep up mana:
Breath of Ternsmochin Rk. II SHM/71 Decrease Hitpoints by 307 (L75)
Breath of Wunshi SHM/67 Decrease Hitpoints by 223 (L70)
Nectar of Agony Rk. II SHM/74 Hitpoints range: 730 -> 0
Juju Rk. II SHM/74 Decrease Hitpoints by 768
Nectar of Pain SHM/70 Hitpoints range: 680 -> 0
Vengeance of Ahnkaul Rk. II SHM/75 Decrease Hitpoints by 580
Blood of Yoppa SHM/70 Decrease Hitpoints by 450 per tick
Curse of Sisslak SHM/69 Decrease Hitpoints by 578
Its hits 4300 dmg per tick before crits and focus. I’ve never parsed it (and I suck at math), but I believe its about 720 dps?? Brohg will correct it I’m sure. Add in focus and crits randomly increasing dmg and it would be much greater. There are other line ups to this, but I started soloing this way in RSS, laying on as many dots as I could so that I could kill mobs with only 2 VPs after being shown the technique by a guildy (using spell setups to quick swap dots before they ran out). Once I got used to the timing of the individual dots I was able to keep them running indefinitely. The disease dots aren’t really necessary, but I had more down time than need to canni so I added them in for the hell of it. If I could keep this up in a group (has never happened mobs die to fast) I could splash in some stings instead of the lower lvl dots.
