From where you are now at 25-30...

Assuming you already have a fungi and a JBB (if you don't then do get them): Pick up some FT items from the bazaar if you can. Pick up some level 3 Focus effects from the bazaar. Pretty much everything you buy at those levels is tradable so you will be able to sell it all back as you out level it.

Level like mad until you hit 55. Go and buy some "ornate chain patterns" from the bazaar. Make those into ornate armour hand in quest in Plane of Tranquility- these have excellent all round stats and focus effects.
(Ignore LDoN totally. Complete timesink and time vs reward is crap. )

Level like mad now until you hit 60.
Get the key spells: Malo + HoT.
Stop levelling and get the following AA : Run3, Food&Drink3, Mental Clarity 3, Canni, Extra Spell Slot. These are the ones that will massivly up power you.

At level 60 as a Shaman you are massivly more powerful than any pre-Planes of Power content you would be facing. If you enjoy the game at this level (grouping/solo) then stay at 60 for a while and get a few more AA: mana reduction, buff extension and quick casting, dodge and mitigation. these will all stand you in good stead.

Beyond 60, I would level up to 65

Then from 65+ do DoN and DoD missions (if you can get the groups) to get spells, and armour pieces. At 75 then start AA again.

Thanks for the tips Veril, that is exactly the kind of info I was looking for. I have been looking for a JBB but haven't had luck yet. I just hit 38 last night but haven't been able to play much the last few days. I will say that leveling is so much faster and easier than it ever was in the old days. I didn't realize you could buy the Ornate chain patterns for the armor quests, this will make things much easier. I already feel so overpowered even now. At lvl 38 I'm still taking on yellow and white cons and doing them in multiples on occasion. I don't think that ever could have been done this easy in the old days and I don't even have a fungi right now. I'm just using the iksar BP along with some tributes and always trying to get a temp and/or HoS. Not to mention the clarity and regen potions make life much easier.

At any rate my issue right now is finding a good place to hunt for exp reward. I spent an hour or so in Dulak's Harbor last night and gained a level, but seemed like exp wasn't all that great even for the whites and yellows I was fighting. The loot however was not bad as the mobs were dropping 2-4pp along with the weapons that were worth 3-4pp each and not to mention I got a few rare drops from named and random mobs. Anyways I was thinking about trying the hole but not sure if I'm quite high enough yet but I'm guessing the exp is awesome. Any other ideas?
