On Speedbump pathing, was in a Creator last night, Ranger was kiting a mob, due to tank going down (don't ask, was not my fault, pulling mob before healer or slower is there, just plain dumb) so I tried to sic pet on mob. Speedbump spent more time zig zagging back and forth than hitting mob. Had levitate on him and still seemed to have some sort of spastic attack, would just not keep locked on mobs ankles chewing away.

Our pet has it's uses though, even on some high-end fights. Not many, but a few. For instance, on the Jelvan fight in Anguish, considered by most to be the toughest fight in Anguish besides OMM. If you are on the East mob or the West mob, you can put up Fluffy and he will happily hammer away at the Tanthu, Tanthi, Tantho (whichever one's not South...I forget) until the mob dies. He's not awesome DPS but he's consistent. Can't use him at South, but East and West are fair game.

But yeah, you do have a point. I spend alot of time in 69.1 in a kiting group for XP and he does take his sweet time getting to the Drachnid at times.

Buffing is a pita, but it gets better with the extension AA's. At least you don't have to do it as often.

Basically, as randomness increases, it's more likely that the fight will end before everything evens out in the end. It's not worth meleeing unhasted.

I love having a good necro in group. I keep busy, and MW keeps me flowing. I haven't run across many necros who will pull for the group lately, which is fine. They can if need be, but FD pulling generally isn't fast enough for my taste to keep chain pulls popping. A good necro willl often take care of an ADD by snare-kiting it, while the group handles the rest. And if things go bad, it is often that necro who can rezz the group.

Necro DPS is well-known, and I've only run into one situation where it doesn't shine -- the super heavy DPS groups that kill reds and yellow in under 30 secs, and have a steady supply of mobs ready to kill. I've been XP'ing with a bard/zerker boxer with my cleric/shammy combo, and with a pally or SK and other DPS to flesh the group out. Keeping panther on 3-5 targets, a DOT, and a rain, or even zero DOTs and chaining rains if group is really fast, our necro was actualy rather bored and didn't contribute much. Well, not as much as he was used to, I would imagine.

I wouldn't get too riled up, Micker, by the efforts of some to berate others. I'm not one to rub salt into the wounds of those already hurting, and I believe our pally friends could use a bump in power, tho I'm not exactly sure how. Shaman are a strong class, and it isn't dignified for one of the "haves" to denigrate one of the "have-nots." Far be it from me to point out the bad punctuation, bad grammar, and bad form which really serves no purpose other than to air out an inconsiderate opinion. Some of us can get away with sentence fragments, mispellings, no commas nor apostrophes. Or slights, insults, and non-sequiturs. While others seem not to be able to even get away from those same errors. It's not so much the unskilled technique as it is the bad intentions that incriminates. Which made me think of a cool catch-phrase:

When I first got into electronic music in college, I listened to Wendy Carlos. Got some synthetic orchestral tape. About 2 months ago, surfing around I stumbled on the little factoid that Wendy used to be a he. Wow.

And remember how Led Zeppelin and all those metal bands were supposedly evil.... you could play their stuff backwards and hear satanic messages... Me and my rock guitar buddy back then took a record of Another One Bites the Dust by Queen, and played it backwards. It said, in a muffled pseudo-demonic voice, "Decide to take marijuana." Good times indeed.

Hence the warrior PoFire 'farm' groups with that earthshaker (can't recall the exact name) the 2h weapon that procs some AE 300DD. They'd get themselves slowed, pull a huge train, then go furious or whatever it is and due to the slow and the massive number of ripostes they'd basically non stop proc and kill all the mobs they'd pull. I don't remember the full details, but from all reports when done properly it was pretty insane xp once per disc refresh.
