Karana's Renewal is half the efficiency of Reptile, if that (on a warrior, the comparison is worse on sk/pal), and requires 130-some AA more than Reptile to get even that far. You'd have to have 50% or less "up" fighting time in your groups for KR to be better than Reptile in hp healed per mana. It also has the same +agro effect for the tank that some shm around here celebrate on Sloth.

The arguement most people use to shoot down efficiency arguements is that they "keep up" just fine, and I'm sure you do that, too. The fact is, though, that you're underusing this tool, so you could be doing much more.

An unconsidered point thus far: Reptile goes nuts when there's more than one mob. Two mobs meleeing tank straight doubles the healing per second power of Reptile. Since monsters typically hit more than 120 times in 90sec anyhow, you can't add a third mob to triple the power, but that's not really a counterarguement, since the same factor just increases the base power of the buff.

Hey thought:

Could you /duel someone in group that has a lower level pet, then sick the pet on a tank for greater proc rate from reptile? Maybe there is a use for the green druid bear pet?

Don't /duels make the participants protected from outside beneficial spells? Sounds pretty risky.

Btw Brohg, I was thinking about it, the reason why those numbers you quoted are misleading is probably because the spell duration is fixed by time or hits, whichever is smaller, while procs go off on swings. That data was likely generated with massed greens which of course mostly missed, hence were generating a lot of procs before the 120 hit counter used for the parse clocked out. In a real fight that wouldnt happen, so numbers would be a lot lower.

And, of course, that would account for the massive effect AGI had on the parse.

Fenier, I think you're missing Brohg's point:

Hot+CH or Fast heal =X amount of healing power for Clerics
KR or Fast heal=Y amount of healing power for Druids
Hot+Fast heal=Z amount of healing power for Shaman

The overal HPS of each priest used to be set like this:
X>Y>Z
Now the overal HPS on a single target is:
X>Y>>Z

Reptile might not be as much healing as a hot (and the tests above don't prove much. way too short, and not enough mob variety. I've seen much higher reptile parses.), but that isn't the issue really. The issue is that it is a new stackable form of healing that is added to a Druids already higher HPS power.

Really, the only thing shaman complain about healing wise, is our definition as a main healer. SOE considers us a main healer, yet continually seems to set our HPS value as the weakest of the 3 priests, as they are apparently under the illusion that Druids and Clerics never take advantage of slow.

Don't get me wrong. Hots are much greater than reptile in raids (AE's), but being a main healer in a group boils down to HPS at the end of the day. Can I keep the tank up or not? The gap between Druids and Shaman just got a little bit bigger with DoD.
