I had such high hopes for this service and would have paid their added fees. But being that I work in sales a few things became apparent. First did they actually talk to players and ask what they wanted. They are usually so eager to do one of those annoying log in polls but I guess not this time huh ??? Second did they research Magelo/eqrankings and figure out what aspects of those services were the most appealing to the paying customers (strike two)..... Third -- correct me if im wrong but the beta of this project that in post they said included an enormous amount of information. was beta tested for 2 weeks(approx). Was this service fully functional when they put in the <click here to upgrade > button....strike three


Overall I had high hopes, maybe in a few months. But as of today the service just isn't ready and I cant imagine paying for it. The purpose for this post isn't to bash SOE( there are plenty of those posts already) What im hoping for is maybe some feedback over the next few weeks/months from those trusting souls who actually forked over some money to stay"upgraded"

it's funny. I thought this was a good idea also. I used the one when i played eq2 for a few months and it was just ok, considering i didnt really have another method of peopel checking me out. But that is probably why it was in beta for such a short period of time, because they have the same deal for EQ2.

I like that magelo has the "alt magelo's" deals that you can add in, for upgrades that you are looking for and whatnot. It's a solid feature that EQ players don't have the option to do. Also there is TONS of different load times with EQ players, so it's not as convienient as magelo.

One down side i see also for eq players. I usually proc out (OT hammer) when i'm finished for the night, and it upgrades with that hammer equiped. Or when I equip my BP clickies and it updates them with it.

All in all, i don't plan on paying for this.

I give it a few weeks before they turn around and start freeing up huge chunks of the site and/or start offering refunds for anyone that's actually payed for the service thus far.

refunds? yeah soe dont even like to refund AA, let alone $$.

One feature I really liked, was the ability to list spells/disciplines, and the missing ones on top of that.

The biggest negative, for me, was the fact that when you clicked on an item, it would just display that item. First thing I would do is then go to allakhazams and check out player comments on it, were it dropped etc etc. The ability for players to add comments to items is essential if they want to interest me in it.

Since it requires a subscription now to view even your own basic profile it's less use than a chocolate teapot.
I will stick with manually updating Magelo

EQRankings chose to make the wrong thing "Premium". Accurate and current lists should be at the core of their service. Player, item searches, and sorts beyond hp/mana should have been the premium features. Moreover, they should have gone in another direction entirely, and just tried to get a slice of Magelo's $1/mo, and volunteered themselves to be part of their premium service.
