If outdoors, add:

For each Shadowknight you steal from cleric groups, add:
13 Inruku's Bite
13 Ancient Bite of Muram (really 13.5, fudged downward to appease "omg real life" posts)

For each Necromancer you steal from cleric groups, add:
30 Mind Wrack

For each Beastlord who's targetting your group instead of clerics (cause they're dumb like that, or they'd be shaman ) add:
9 Perfection of Spirit

Further mana regen is possible using Theft of Thought weapons from Vex Thal. For simplicity's sake, we'll assume non-casting time is spent clicking Concussion instead of meleeing. Tbh, I haven't done the math to see if swinging is even worth it between casting as an aid to mana regen. Recall that you trade Meditation ticks for it if you're outdoors. I know that it beats medding if done full-time. There's no medding indoors anyhow. Bottom line, too many factors to consider in an overall mana regen analysis, even if you arbitrarily assign things like full cfx that can't actually be achieved by casters, and certainly are no part of ideal wizard outfits.

124 mana/1cast * 1cast/5.27 sec * 6sec/1tick = 141 mana/tick

15mana/tick difference, if you never have even 0.1sec lag. That, gentlemen, is what we call "free damage."

The cost of "casting one spell" is a real thing, and not to be dismissed. 4.75sec (don't forget recast time) out of every 22.75sec is over 20% of a shaman's time spent, to provide the "edge" that every other spell we get, ever is balanced against, mana cost and power-wise.

We didn't get that spell from the current administration. The fact that it's grandfathered in to the current term is testament to old standbyes being more reliable than fancy newfangled gadgets like...

which contrasts interestingly with

Desolate Deeds : Decrease Attack Speed by 70%, Mana: 300, Casting Time: 1.5

and especially with

Sha's Legacy : Decrease Attack Speed by 65%, Mana: 200, Casting Time: 1.5 .

Shm healing power is lower, but s'okay because of our mana regen. Shm nuking power is lower, but s'okay because of mana regen. The new group heal is grossly less efficient than the druid version, but s'okay because of mana regen... but no one seems to recognise that these spells carry inbuilt reduction in efficiency because we're only casters 80% of the time.

20% of our time, we can't proc GoM, due to That Which Shall Not Be Named (shm spellcasting overhead).
