Seriously, KB, if you routinely offer helpful insight about the game, from the perspective of a non-Shaman - like many of your posts from this time last year - you'll have earned the distinction.

Redfang/Mayong bats = fluke coding -- the mobs aren't actually being rooted. The best way for a druid to keep multiple mobs rooted (for real) is through the same method a shaman would use - ornate pants, not our 5 target non-resist checked root.

Your other examples show that snare (movement debuff) is only of use during a handful of raids. And saying druids are more fit to the role of kiting than shamans just because they're the ones to snare the mob makes zero sense, that's like saying shamans are better tanks than druids just because they slow the mobs.

I'm not saying either a druid or a shaman have more diverse raid roles than one another, but it's rather moot point to argue (imo) -- due to that changing roles are either a result of rare/goofy event componets or extremely situational use of certain spells/abilities.

Ahh ok, but you still don't understand the actual mechanics behind the bats in DP. The coding around that is incredibly goofy, ie, it's a fluke druids are the best rooters for that.

And knights are the best kiters during raids (but ty for implying that "pulling a druid away from the action" is more desiable than pulling a shaman away.) Knights have the best aggro and survivibility.

If your druids need to resnare mobs during gnarl, they should consider trying out a double-snare tactic (they'll know what it means.) I use this tactic on any raid that needs snaring, unless the mobs have low MR, so I don't get tied up worrying about the adds for the entire raid.
