for Phatcow - Yes have to be within the 10 level difference like LDON. and Yes, Spirit Sending takes you back to the shrouder (like a gate/port straight back to him/herm) and it is listed on the AA screen when you are in shroud form.
for Catmandew - I havent tested this recently to make sure it still works, but I was invis and stayed invis and used the "U" for Use command as if I was opening a door. I was able to use the merchant.

The shroud down for easy DoN missions sounds good. SoE nerfed that for LDoNs a bit ago. Have you done this recently? I bet they may have nerfed it for DoNs when they got it for LDoNs.
