The Spirit Realm

Hi folks,

I've been unable to get in-game since yesterday's patch. On launching, the game seems to update OK, but after I hit 'Play' I get an error message with 'A timeout has occurred'. Also happens if I try to go to the chat servers. Anyone else having this problem or have some idea what the fix is?

If you are using a custome UI, then you will be crashing to desktop. There are some fixes that are floating around out there, but from what i understand you have to change a couple of the pieces to your custome UI.

Are you using Wineq or WIneq2?

I used to have that problem after a patch, but it was due to not having check for patches turned on in Wineq.

If you are using it, either boot the normal eq, or turn check for patching on in Wineq and boot it.

If that isn't the problem, I can't help you, as I haven't experienced that in any other circumstances.

Thanks Big, but I'm a pure vanilla, one account type of chap, so no WinEQ for me.

A friend thinks it might have something to do with the number of un/claimed items on my account causing the login to time out. Experiments will be conducted ...

Do a full file check. It could be that one of the files EQ uses to log you on has become corrupted, and so it is hanging up.

check your firewall settings and make sure it is allowing everything eq related or 989 i think is the other one related to eq
